The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) has opened registrations for the Post-Graduate Lato Sensu Course in School Management, which will be held entirely online.
The specialization is an opportunity for public education professionals, especially for directors of state and municipal schools, who wish to enhance their skills and strengthen management in their institutions.
The course is free and aims to prepare participants to perform the role of school managers with excellence, focusing on administrative, organizational, and educational service activities.

Course Details: Workload and Teaching Modality
The specialization in School Management offers a workload of 420 hours, providing a robust training for those who wish to excel in the field.
The course will be conducted entirely online, utilizing the Virtual Learning Environment (AVEA/Moodle) of IFSC, along with weekly synchronous meetings.
These meetings will occur every Thursday from 7 PM to 10 PM, allowing for direct interaction between students and teachers.
The content will be delivered flexibly and adapted to the reality of educators, enabling participants to balance their work routine with their studies.
Asynchronous classes are an excellent option for those looking to adapt their studies to their schedule, while the weekly meetings ensure interaction and tracking of students’ progress.
Distribution of Places: Five Centers in Santa Catarina
The course offers a total of 150 places, distributed among five centers in the state of Santa Catarina.
The places are organized as follows:
- Criciúma: 30 places
- Itapema: 30 places
- Joinville: 30 places
- São José: 30 places
- Tubarão: 30 places
These centers were strategically chosen to meet the demand for training in the most representative regions of the state, ensuring that directors and pedagogical coordinators from different municipalities can participate in the training.
This distribution aims to facilitate access to the course for a significant number of educators, offering the opportunity for improvement in school management on a broad scale.
Who Can Enroll?
The priority target audience for the course is school directors working in state and municipal public networks.
This training is especially aimed at those in leadership positions in schools, making it an excellent opportunity to enhance educational management practices.
However, if there are still available spots, other education professionals may also be considered, as detailed below:
- Group 1: Directors of state and municipal public schools.
- Group 2: Pedagogical and technical coordinators from state and municipal education departments, provided they work in the area of training for school directors.
- Group 3: Other candidates with a higher education diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC).
All candidates must be holders of a higher education diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in order to participate in the selection.
How to Participate in the Selection Process: Schedule and Enrollment
Registration for the specialization course will be open until March 31, 2025, exclusively for candidates from Group 1 (school directors), through the IFSC website: https://sistemadeingresso.ifsc.edu.br/inicio.php.
The selection will be conducted through a public electronic draw, which will take place on April 2, 2025, at 3:30 PM, with a live broadcast on IFSC’s official YouTube channel.
The live broadcast ensures transparency and direct access for all involved, allowing candidates to follow the selection process in real-time.
After the draw, selected candidates must send the necessary documentation for enrollment between April 4 and April 11, 2025.
The classes will start on May 8, 2025, and the course will be offered entirely online, allowing students to adapt their pace of classes according to their schedules.
