Capcom Surprises at Summer Game Fest by Revealing Resident Evil 9: Requiem, Set to Premiere in 2026, Starring Grace Ashcroft and the Return of Raccoon City to the Plot

During the Summer Game Fest held on Friday (6), Capcom surprised the audience by revealing Resident Evil 9: Requiem. The announcement confirmed the release date for February 27, 2026. The new chapter of the famous franchise will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

The trailer introduced the protagonist Grace Ashcroft. She is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a character who appeared in the spin-off Resident Evil: Outbreak on PS2.

In the storyline, Grace works as an FBI investigator and faces the mysteries of a hotel. This location is directly linked to the character’s tragic past, as it was where her mother was murdered.
