A Survey Released by Jato do Brasil Consulting Revealed the Best-Selling Vehicles in Brazil in January.
Data from Jato do Brasil Consulting shows that in the first month of 2024, Brazil recorded sales of 151,087 new cars and light commercial vehicles.
This number represents a 16.6% increase compared to the same period last year. At that time, 129,558 automobiles were sold and registered on Brazilian soil.
While this number is higher compared to January 2023, the same cannot be said when it comes to the comparison with December of last year. This is because, in the last month of 2023, new car sales were 35.8% higher than those recorded in January of this year.

The Best-Selling Car of January
After being the most sold vehicle in the country for the past three years, the Fiat Strada starts another season in the lead. According to data from Jato do Brasil Consulting, 8,022 pickups were sold in January.
In second place is the Hyundai HB20, which saw 7,478 registrations in the first month of 2024. The third position in the monthly ranking goes to the Polo model from Volkswagen. In total, 7,258 units of this car were sold in January.

Best-Selling SUVs
In January, among the SUVs, which totaled 46,840 sales, the best-selling model was the Creta from Hyundai. In total, 4,898 vehicles were sold and registered in the first month of this year. Following it is the Chevrolet Tracker, with 4,280 sales, and the Nissan Kicks, with 4,074.
Among sedans, the best-seller in January was the Chevrolet Onix Plus, with 3,559 registrations. Among the top sellers in January, only one is electric: the BYD Dolphin, which appeared in 30th place on the list, with 1,820 sales.
Renault Kwid: The Cheapest Vehicle in Brazil
Finally, when it comes to price, the champion was the Renault Kwid, the cheapest car in Brazil. Currently, the vehicle, which appears only in 19th place on the best-sellers list, with 3,069 sales, is priced at R$ 71,190. In second place is the Fiat Mobi, its main rival, priced at R$ 71,990. This model had 3,719 sales.
