FPSO Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi – The Strategic Platforms of Petrobras That Will Together Produce 150 Thousand Barrels of Oil Per Day in the Campos Basin!
Finally, the Anna Nery platform vessel left the BrasFELS shipyard last Tuesday (11/22), heading to the Campos Basin (RJ) to join the Anita Garibaldi! Petrobras is investing US$ 16 billion in the mature field revitalization program, being the largest global revitalization program in the oil industry!
The FPSO Anna Nery arrived at the BrasFELS shipyard in early October 2022 and underwent the final commissioning of the process plant, acceptance tests, and regulatory inspections. Shortly after departing from the shipyard, the Anna Nery underwent tests required by the Brazilian Navy in the anchorage area and was connected to the ocean-going tugs that are taking it to its final location in the Campos Basin.
FPSO Will Be Strategic for the Campos Basin Renewal Plan
With a start expected in the first quarter of 2023 and a production peak in 2025, the Anna Nery platform vessel, which is part of the strategic system for the Petrobras Campos Basin Renewal Plan, will be anchored in a water depth of 927 meters and interconnected to 32 oil wells in the Marlim field.

It is worth noting that the Marlim Revitalization Project aims to replace the nine oil platforms currently operating in the Marlim and Voador fields (P-18, P-19, P-20, P-26, P-32, P-33, P-35, P-37, and P-47) with the new FPSOs Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi – the latter scheduled to begin production also in 2023.
Campos Basin Accounts for Almost 75% of All Oil Extracted in Offshore Environments in Brazil
The revitalization of the Campos Basin is part of the largest program of its kind for mature offshore industry assets globally. With this, Petrobras expects to add more value to the Marlim and Voador fields by installing the FPSOs Anita Garibaldi and Anna Nery with the capacity to produce, together, up to 150 thousand barrels per day (bpd). The start of operations for both platforms is scheduled for 2023.
As an international hub for offshore technology and the birthplace of deepwater production in Brazil, the Campos Basin accounts for almost 75% of all oil extracted in offshore environments in the country to date. The region has been a pioneer in innovation and will continue to be both for the decommissioning projects on the radar and for the revitalization of mature concessions operated by new companies in the sector.
