Ford Electric SUV Surges in China With Advanced Technology Package and Extended Range, Catching Attention for Its Robust Visual, Digital Interior, and Urban and Outdoor-Focused Features.
The Ford Bronco electric has begun pre-sales in China as part of a new electrified family that includes fully battery-powered versions and hybrids with range extenders.
Developed in partnership by the JMC-Ford joint venture, the mid-size SUV promises up to 1,220 km of total range, all-wheel drive with dual motors, and a robust package of onboard technology, including a 70-inch HUD projected on the windshield and a driver assistance system based on Nvidia Orin-X chips.
In China, the Bronco New Energy entered pre-sale on November 18, with prices starting at 229,800 yuan, which, in direct conversion, amounts to around R$ 170,000, depending on the exchange rate.

GAC Aion UT lands in Brazil for R$ 135,990 as the most affordable electric car in the country with over 200 hp, surpasses BYD Dolphin in size, features a 360 camera, and offers up to 310 km of range to challenge Chinese rivals.
The lineup includes five configurations, divided between two fully electric (BEV) options and three plug-in hybrids with range extenders (EREV), all featuring four-wheel drive and focusing on mixed use between city, road, and light off-road.
Design and Dimensions of the Electric Bronco
The electrified Bronco maintains the square and robust visual proposal reminiscent of the traditional model.
The body measures approximately 5.03 meters in length, 1.96 meters in width, and 1.82 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.95 meters and a ground clearance near 220 millimeters.
In terms of aesthetics, the utility vehicle stands out with the illuminated “BRONCO” logo on the front grille.
The lines are straight, the spare tire hangs on the rear door, and the door handles are flush-mounted to improve aerodynamics.

In some versions, there is also a lidar installed on the roof, integrated with the advanced driving assistance system.
Electric Motors and Extended Range
The Bronco New Energy range is divided into two main architectures.
In the fully electric BEV versions, the SUV uses two motors, one on the front axle and another on the rear.
The set develops 130 kW (174 hp) at the front and 202 kW (271 hp) at the rear, for a combined power of 445 hp, always with all-wheel drive.
The energy comes from a BYD LFP Blade battery, with 105.4 kWh, ensuring a range of up to 650 km in the CLTC cycle.
The Bronco EREV, on the other hand, combines two electric motors with a 1.5 turbo engine that acts as a generator.
This engine delivers about 110 kW, while the two electric motors combine for a power close to 416 hp.
The Blade battery of 43.7 kWh allows for about 220 km in electric mode, and the total range reaches 1,220 km in the CLTC standard.
The all-wheel drive is electronically managed, and the SUV features driving modes focused on urban efficiency and low-traction usage.
The top speed reported for the electric versions is approximately 170 km/h.
Digital Interior and 70-Inch HUD

Inside, the electrified Bronco bets on a completely digital environment.
The set includes a “D”-shaped steering wheel, rectangular instrument panel, and a central 15.6-inch screen with 2.5K resolution, responsible for the entertainment system.
The center is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip, a high-performance platform for automotive systems.
One of the most striking elements is the 70-inch augmented reality HUD, projected directly on the windshield.
The system displays speed, navigation, and alerts from the ADAS.
The central console houses a 7.5-liter refrigerator, with adjustable temperatures between about -6°C and 50°C.
The SUV also offers a sound system with 21 speakers, panoramic sunroof, and a front trunk of about 160 liters in the BEV versions.
ADAS Features and Camping Equipment

The Bronco New Energy incorporates an ADAS package with 32 sensors, including cameras, radars, and, in some versions, a lidar sensor mounted on the roof.
This set allows for advanced assisted driving functions on highways and, in certain versions, in urban environments.
The information processing occurs through two Nvidia Orin-X chips, a platform used in next-generation assisted driving systems.
The model also explores the appeal for outdoor activities.
Among the optional items, there is a retractable integrated rooftop tent, expanding the SUV’s use for camping.
Some packages add high-power external outlets and specific lighting modes for off-road use.
Chinese Exclusivity
Ford treats the electrified Bronco as a project aimed exclusively at the Chinese market.
Produced in the factory of the partnership with Jiangling Motors, the model has no forecast for export or adaptation to other countries.
In practice, the Bronco New Energy serves as a technological showcase for the brand in one of the most competitive markets in the world for electric and hybrid vehicles.
It combines extended range, an advanced technology package, and visuals inspired by one of the most traditional names in Ford’s off-road lineup.
If a vehicle with this profile were to arrive in Brazil, how would it position itself among the medium and large SUVs available in the country?
