LATAM Will Outsource Its Services in Brazil
It seems that the strike was justified due to the various mass layoffs involving LATAM and also a possible outsourcing contract that involves aircraft dispatch activities before flights.
LATAM is now cutting some employees; it claims that all layoffs are due to the coronavirus pandemic. One of the main functions to be eliminated would be the DOT.

LATAM Eliminated an Important Function of Its Company
The DOT is a function characterized by the organization of boarding, restriction of suspicious deliveries, checking personal documents, and much more.
The function no longer exists, and this also applies to its complement called DOV, the function that dealt with ANAC certification, flight plans, flight route, and fuel calculation.
Strike at LATAM
When asked about the mass layoffs, the strike at his company, and how the organization would fare in the market, the CEO of LATAM went straight to the point and said: “I don’t need a market, I need money”.
Without the dispatch from the technicians who were also on strike, the planes cannot leave for their destinations, resulting in many people being affected, having to reschedule their flights.
The employees refused to perform their activities until 5 PM; two hours later, a meeting was held, and both parties returned to their normal activities.
