The Job Market Faces Constant Challenges, And Workers’ Rights Are Not Always Respected. Recently, Complaints Indicate That A Company Created A Scheme To Dismiss Experienced Employees Without Paying Severance
A Chinese company is facing serious allegations after reports that it deceived around 200 senior employees to dismiss them without paying compensation.
The case has generated significant backlash and sparked debates about labor practices in the country, with criticism aimed at the tactics adopted by some companies to cut costs on severance payments.

While the Senate stalls the end of the 6×1 schedule, a supermarket takes the lead and delights its employees by adopting a 5×2 schedule with two days off, testing reduced wear and tear, and maintaining salaries even as the workweek is set to decrease from 44 to 40 hours.
Employees Lured Into ‘Prohibited Activities’
The Wuhan CITIC Design Institute, a company based in Hubei province, allegedly devised a plan to get rid of veteran employees with high salaries.
According to reports, a senior manager at the company was tasked with luring these workers into compromising situations.
Some of the affected employees stated that they were invited to bars and clubs under the pretext of “after-work relaxation.”
At the venue, the manager encouraged them to interact with escorts and participate in gambling.
Some intentionally lost money to please their superior, unaware that they were being manipulated.
Others reported that they were exposed to embarrassing situations that could be used against them later.
Evidence Used For Dismissal
With the alleged evidence gathered, the manager reported the events to the company’s management.
Employees were then dismissed without severance rights, under the claim of involvement in prohibited activities.
Local sources estimate that approximately 200 workers were laid off in this manner.
The strategy has sparked outrage on social media. Many pointed out that, in addition to losing their jobs, the dismissed employees would face difficulties in finding new opportunities due to a tarnished record.
Experts state that this practice not only harms the directly affected workers but also creates an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the other employees.
Questionable Labor Practices
Experts emphasize that this approach is uncommon but not unprecedented in China.
Companies often analyze employees’ criminal backgrounds in search of any irregularities that could justify dismissals without compensation.
There are reports of companies falsifying job offers to convince “problematic” employees to voluntarily resign.
Another frequent tactic involves abrupt organizational restructurings, in which entire departments are dissolved to eliminate older employees without offering severance.
Some companies also impose impossible targets or alter contract conditions to force spontaneous exits.
The case of the Wuhan CITIC Design Institute raises questions about worker security and ethical limits in employment relations.
Workers and unions have been calling for greater transparency in layoffs and harsher penalties for companies that adopt abusive strategies.
So far, the company has not officially commented on the allegations.
