Aiming for the Growth of the Decarbonization Market in the Transport Sector, Geo Biogas and Crivellaro Companies Have United to Build a Biomethane Production Plant in Campinas, São Paulo State.
Geo Biogas and Crivellaro companies have a project focused on biofuels in São Paulo State. It is a plant for biomethane production in the Campinas region, with a focus on the accelerated growth of demand for alternatives in the transport sector. Thus, by this Saturday, (07/09), the joint venture between the companies will focus on the decarbonization of this sector with the use of biomethane to attract investments to the state.
New Biomethane Production Plant Will Be Built by the Joint Venture Between Geo Biogas and Crivellaro in the Greater Campinas Region, São Paulo State
The industrial waste management company Crivellaro has joined forces with biofuels producer Geo Biogas to create a joint venture focused on the biomethane market in Brazil, which has been growing significantly in recent years.
Thus, in order to reach the decarbonization segment of transport, the companies will build a plant for the production of biofuel in São Paulo State and intend to attract investors to the sector.

With the end of the 6×1 scale, less audience, the rise of online shopping, the impact of remote work, and a decline in cinema, Brazilian shopping malls remain giants on the outside but are in crisis on the inside.
For the creation of the biomethane production plant from the treatment of organic waste from food and consumer goods industries, the joint venture will utilize a total investment of R$ 70 million over the next few years.
The plant’s completion for the start of production is scheduled for 2023, and according to the company’s projections, the business will have a total production capacity of 15,000 m³/day of biomethane and generation of 11,000 MWh of electricity from biogas.
Thus, Crivellaro and Geo Biogas intend to use trucks for the distribution of biomethane with a focus on the decarbonization market for vehicles, especially those from industries responsible for generating the waste treated at the plant.
The Crivellaro Group collects 110,000 tons/year of organic industrial waste for reuse solutions, but had not yet entered the biofuels sector through this treatment. Now, with the partnership with Geo Biogas, the company can create a market in São Paulo with an environmental commitment.
Partnership with Crivellaro is Part of Geo Biogas’s Expansion Plan Focused on Contracts with Other Companies to Boost the National Market
In addition to the contract with Crivellaro to build the biomethane production plant in São Paulo State, Geo Biogas has a national expansion plan and will leverage partnerships to grow in the coming years.
Thus, the company projects a total of 35 biogas plants to be built from these contracts, with a total estimated production potential of 3 million m³/day of biogas, should the projects proceed as planned.
The creation of the joint venture with Crivellaro is not the first for its growth plan, as Geo Biogas is a partner of Raízen in the joint venture Raízen Geo Biogas S.A, which announced in April the construction of its first plant dedicated to biomethane production.
The project will have a total investment of R$ 300 million and will be installed in Piracicaba, also in São Paulo State, with delivery scheduled for 2023.
Thus, Geo Biogas continues to seek new paths for economic growth in the biofuels sector in Brazil, and the contract with Crivellaro for the biomethane plant in São Paulo State will significantly contribute to this expansion project.
