The Northeast Has a Total of 9,163MW in Distributed Wind Energy Generation
The Northeast region recorded a new record in distributed wind energy generation, totaling 9,163MW on average, during the night of last Saturday (28), claims the National Electric System Operator (ONS). According to the ONS , this amount is more than enough to supply wind energy for about 86.6% of the electricity demand of all the states that make up the Northeast region.

As far as it is known, the distributed wind energy generation target reached for the source in the Northeast region occurred on August 7, when more than 9,000 MW on average was recorded. Distributed wind energy generation has been monitored by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) since 2006, currently representing about 9.5% of Brazil’s entire electricity matrix.
Engie Celebrates Records in Distributed Wind Energy Generation
The month of August was marked by record registrations in the distributed wind energy generation in Northeast Brazil. On August 6, ONS reached over 71% in the distributed wind energy generation index, about 9,049 MW on average, an index that would be sufficient to supply energy for more than 94% of the electricity demand of the entire Northeast region, according to ONS data.

Every time a river flows into the sea, an amount of energy equivalent to a 120-meter waterfall is silently wasted, but Japan has just inaugurated the world’s first power plant that captures this waste and transforms it into electricity 24 hours a day without sun, wind, or fuel.

Canadian engineers want to compress air in underground caverns and build plants of up to 500 MW that function as giant lungs to store renewable energy for hours and stabilize entire electrical grids.
In a statement, Engie emphasized that its generation parks located in Ceará and Bahia, which have a total of nearly 900MW of installed capacity, contributed.
Record Celebrated Due to High Availability of Wind Turbines
Thanks to the wind turbines and the planning that allocates maintenance downtimes, this performance can be celebrated. In addition to the team, the power plants also benefit from 24-hour supervision by the Generation Operation Center, located in Florianópolis (SC), where the company’s headquarters is situated.
