About GNA
GNA is a joint venture between bp, Siemens, SPIC Brasil, and Prumo Logística to develop, implement, and operate structured and sustainable gas and energy projects. GNA is based at the Port of Açu and is building the largest natural gas thermal park in South America, including UTE GNA I (in operation) and UTE GNA II (under construction). To supply the plant, GNA has built a liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport terminal, the FSRU BW Magna, a vessel capable of storing and supplying up to 28 million cubic meters per day, which is docked there. Together, the two thermoelectric plants will generate 3 gigawatts of electricity, enough to supply around 14 million homes. The projects are financed by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
