We Will Work in the Chamber on the Need for All Producing States to Benefit and Not Just Rio, Said the SP Vice Governor.
The São Paulo government will try to amend in the Chamber the PEC for the onerous cession of the megaleilão of oil approved in the Senate. An agreement among Senate leaders determined, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, that the amount to be received by the state of Rio de Janeiro will be 2.5 billion reais from the onerous cession.
João Doria’s administration argued this Wednesday, September 4, that all producing states should benefit from the new sharing and not just Rio de Janeiro.

According to the vice governor and Secretary of Government of SP, Rodrigo Garcia, São Paulo will try to extend the benefit to other producing states in the South and Southeast.
“We will work in the Chamber on the need for all producing states to benefit and not just Rio. São Paulo is also a producing state”, said the secretary.
Interlocutors from the São Paulo government began reaching out to leaders in the Chamber to build support for changing the text approved in the Senate.
In defense, the São Paulo government states that the approved text restricted the distribution of an extra share of the production surplus to the states in the Lakes region.
“As it stands, it benefits Rio de Janeiro and part of Espírito Santo. Since a larger portion is going to be taken from the Union, it should be for all producing states located in the Santos Basin” claimed Garcia.
The vice governor is discussing with the governments of Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo to organize a joint reaction in the Chamber.
The governor of Espírito Santo, Renato Casagrande, has already expressed support for a revision of the text approved by the senators.
