Petrobras Faces Maintenance Of Strike In Northern Fluminense After Union Proposal Rejection. State-Owned Company Claims To Have Presented New Collective Agreement With Advances And Says Production Continues Unaffected.
Petrobras (PETR4) continues to deal with the maintenance of the oil workers’ strike in Northern Fluminense, after a decision made in an assembly by Sindipetro-NF. The union, which represents workers in the region, chose to reject the last counterproposal presented by the state-owned company and maintain the strike this Friday (26).
The decision comes at a time when most union bases in the country have already suspended the strike movement. Nevertheless, in Northern Fluminense, workers understood that the proposal presented did not fully meet local demands, prolonging the deadlock with Petrobras.
Company Claims To Have Presented A New Collective Agreement Proposal
While the strike continues in part of the base, sources linked to Petrobras reported that the company has already presented a new Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) proposal. According to these sources, the text includes “advances on the main union demands” and is part of the state-owned company’s effort to end the mobilization.

The company also emphasized that, so far, the strike has not impacted production. This is because contingency teams were activated to ensure the continuity of operations, particularly in areas deemed strategic.
Approval Of The CLA Advances In Other Regions Of The Country
Throughout the week, assemblies held in different union bases approved the Collective Labor Agreement in 13 of the 14 unions affiliated with the Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP). Consequently, the strike was suspended in most Petrobras units nationwide.
The mobilization resulted in advances in the three central axes of the reivindicatory campaign, according to a statement from the union entities. These advances helped to unlock negotiations that had been dragging on since the beginning of the movement.
Social Security Becomes Central To Negotiations With Petrobras
In the social security axis, one of the most sensitive points of the discussions, Petrobras formalized a letter of commitment. The document provides for the construction of a definitive solution for the Deficit Equating Plans (DEPs).
Additionally, the topic will be monitored within the mediation framework with the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU). For the unions, this signal represents an important step, especially for retirees and pensioners linked to the company’s pension funds.
Economic And Social Benefits Broaden The Scope Of The Agreement
In the economic and social field, the CLA negotiated with Petrobras provides for an expansion of rights and benefits that affect not only active workers but also retirees, pensioners, and service providers.
Among the agreed points are the payment of bonuses, adjustments to meal and food vouchers, and the creation of a monthly food allowance. Measures for reducing transportation and commuting costs were also negotiated.
Furthermore, the agreement includes advances in working conditions, focusing on health and operational safety. These items were highlighted as a significant part of the achievements obtained after the national mobilization.
Northern Fluminense Maintains A More Cautious Stance
Despite the advances recorded at the national level, Sindipetro-NF believes that there are still points that need to be better adjusted to meet the specificities of the region. Therefore, the strike remains maintained in Northern Fluminense, even with the signal of new proposals from Petrobras.
The expectation is that new rounds of negotiations will occur in the coming days, as the state-owned company seeks to expand the reach of the collective agreement and definitively end the strike movement.
