Registration deadline extended for new classes
The Grupo Equatorial has extended the registration deadline for the Electricians School Program 2026. Thus, candidates can now register until June 5. The initiative offers free qualification for those wishing to enter the electricity distribution sector.
In addition, the program reinforces the company’s commitment to professional training. At the same time, it seeks to prepare qualified labor to meet market demands in the states where it operates. According to the Grupo Equatorial, registrations must be made exclusively through the program’s official platform.
Program offers 300 vacancies in five states
This year, the Electricians School offers 300 free vacancies. The opportunities are distributed in municipalities in the states of Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, Goiás, and Amapá.

The training is conducted in partnership with the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai). In addition, the course is intended for candidates aged 18 or older, with a complete high school education and a Category B or higher driver’s license.
Similarly, participants need to be available for 40 hours per week. Meanwhile, the course lasts approximately four months and includes a monthly allowance, contributing to the students’ retention during the training.
Training prepares professionals to work on electrical networks
During the training, students receive instruction focused on working with electricity distribution networks. Additionally, the content prioritizes safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
According to Ana Carolina Reis, Superintendent of Development and Organizational Culture at Grupo Equatorial, the extension of the deadline represents a new opportunity to expand access to professional qualification.
Furthermore, according to the executive, the Electricians School serves as an entry point into the job market. Additionally, it contributes to income generation and strengthens the communities served by the company.
Program records 60% employability
Since its inception, the Electricians School has shown consistent results. Between 2022 and 2025, the program trained 1,930 professionals.
Out of this total, 1,137 participants have already been absorbed by the job market. Thus, the initiative achieved an average employability rate of 60%.
Additionally, the program has also advanced in the diversity agenda. Currently, female participation represents 21% of the trained professionals.
The candidates’ journey includes registration, behavioral assessment, in-person evaluations in some locations, psychotechnical exams, medical screening, and technical interviews.
2026 edition expands workload and reinforces safety
For the 2026 edition, the Electricians School increased the workload to up to 656 hours. Of this total, more than 520 hours are dedicated to technical training.
Among the new features is the inclusion of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Safety of Grupo Equatorial. In this way, future professionals are trained according to the safety standards adopted by the company.
In addition to technical qualification, the program continues to encourage inclusion and diversity. Therefore, it continues to promote female participation in a segment traditionally occupied by men.
Grupo Equatorial expands presence in the energy sector
Currently, Grupo Equatorial is the third largest energy distribution group in Brazil by number of customers. The company operates in concessionaires located in the states of Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, Alagoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Amapá, and Goiás.
Today, the company serves about 14 million customers. Additionally, it is present in 31% of the national territory, serving 15% of Brazilian consumers and accounting for 13% of the national electricity distribution market.
At the same time, the group also operates in the segments of services, telecommunications, commercialization, distributed generation, and sanitation. Furthermore, after acquiring 100% of the shares of Echoenergia S.A., it expanded its operations in the renewable energy sector and strengthened its presence in the Brazilian energy market.
