The mechanic Jonatas de Sousa Silva, 30, woke up to another ordinary day in Rio Branco, but ended up experiencing one of those moments that seem like a movie scene. He was the grand winner of a national promotion organized by Petronas, an international brand of automotive lubricants, and received a unique prize: a Royal Enfield Hunter 350 fully customized by the São Paulo-based Shibuya Garage.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind motorcycle in the world,” Jonatas said, still trying to believe in the luck that changed his garage instantaneously.

How the Promotion Worked

The contest was simple: you just needed to register on the company’s official website to compete for various prizes. However, the highlight was reserved for the first place winner.

Official Delivery and Details of the Motorcycle

The delivery took place on Thursday (18). Representatives from Petronas came from São Paulo and also from Porto Velho (RO) to conduct the official ceremony.

The motorcycle received by Jonatas is not just new: it was disassembled and rebuilt, receiving custom exhaust, chassis, and wheels.

According to the mechanic, it is an example that cannot be replicated. Valued at approximately R$ 50,000, the sum includes both the value of the Hunter 350 and the customization along with all the necessary documentation for it to be legally driven.

Personal Use and Future Plans

Jonatas assured that the motorcycle will have a practical destination. “It will be used in my daily life, on my outings, and also on some trips,” he stated. He emphasized that he intends to enjoy the prize and has no interest in selling it.

This decision reinforces the personal nature of the achievement because, for him, the motorcycle is not just a material possession, but also a reminder of a special moment.

Initial Doubt

The announcement of the prize was not received calmly at first. Jonatas explained that he almost ignored the news when he received the first messages.

“I get a lot of messages because of my work. So, when the contact came, I thought it was just another one of those. I only took it seriously when they also reached out on Instagram and Facebook,” he reported.

Even with the confirmation, caution remained. “Nowadays, we tend to be suspicious. But then I saw it was true,” he added.

The happy ending brought more than just a prize. It also brought the feeling that a simple registration can indeed change someone’s routine in unexpected ways.
