Similar-Sized SUVs and a New Competition in the Market is Set Between Japanese Giants Honda and Toyota!
The competition between Honda and Toyota promises to heat up in 2025, with the arrival of the new Yaris Cross and WR-V in Brazil, both SUVs aimed at capturing the Brazilian audience.
The SUVs from the two Japanese brands, Honda and Toyota, have quite similar dimensions, positioning themselves as more accessible alternatives compared to other compact models such as VW T-Cross, Hyundai Creta, and Chevrolet Tracker.
With local production planned for next year, both WR-V and Yaris Cross are undergoing testing in Brazil and are expected to stand out in the price range that was previously occupied by models such as Renault Kardian and Fiat Pulse, according to the website motor1.

Peugeot publicly acknowledged the errors of the PureTech engine, which caused serious failures in hundreds of thousands of cars, and introduced the new Turbo 100 as a definitive solution, a 1.2 turbo tested for over 3 million kilometers that replaces the faulty belt with a more durable chain.

Without relying on an outlet, without a cable, and without the gasoline engine driving the wheels: Nissan created the Note e-POWER, a hatchback that always runs on an electric motor while a combustion engine works only as a generator, delivering to Japan a type of “electric without recharging” that Brazil is almost unfamiliar with.
Dimensions and Capacities of the Models
When comparing the measurements of the two SUVs, we note that the Honda WR-V measures 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height, and 2,650 mm in wheelbase.

On the other hand, the Toyota Yaris Cross has slightly smaller dimensions, with a length of 4,310 mm, a width of 1,770 mm, a height of 1,615 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
Although both are larger than the smaller models available in the market, such as the Fiat Pulse, they are positioned closer to competitors like Hyundai Creta and VW T-Cross.
Engines: What to Expect from Each Model
Regarding the engine, the Honda WR-V will use a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine, already known from the City, which delivers 126 hp and torque of 15.5/15.8 kgfm, combined with a CVT transmission.

Toyota, on the other hand, is expected to adopt the same 1.5 naturally aspirated engine for the Yaris Cross, but with the addition of a hybrid-flex powertrain in the higher-end versions, increasing competitiveness between the two models.
Advanced Equipment and Technologies
Both models, WR-V and Yaris Cross, are expected to come equipped with comprehensive driver assistance packages, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning with automatic braking, and lane departure warning.

In addition, the connectivity package will follow the trend of technologies already present in other Honda and Toyota models in Brazil, ensuring that consumers have access to modern and functional features.
A Promising Competition in the SUV Segment
The arrival of the Honda WR-V and Toyota Yaris Cross promises to shake up the SUV market in Brazil, offering competitive options for consumers.

Both models are positioned in a more accessible price range, attracting buyers looking for quality and technology in their vehicles.
With these bets, Honda and Toyota aim to strengthen their presence in the fastest-growing segment in the country, consolidating themselves as leaders in an increasingly dynamic market.

Honda tem qualidade mas não tem marqueting , mataram o Twist , o Fit e o WR-V . Agora querem corrigir a burrada .
