The contracts were signed throughout the year and the equipment is expected to start being delivered from October of this year, according to the mining company.
“The contracts signed so far total US$ 293 million, within the budget and timeline projected, continuing the positive pace of the construction of Araguaia,” commented the CEO of Horizonte Minerals, Jeremy Martin.

Now, Horizonte Minerals is awaiting the arrival of the equipment that contributed to the millions in investments in the region of Conceição do Araguaia.
Araguaia Project Foresees Production of 14,500 Tons per Year of Nickel After the Completion of the Plant Works
The Araguaia Project is not only the largest in Brazil in terms of investments made. It will also guarantee Horizonte Minerals a significant increase in nickel mining in the Pará territory. This is because the company’s forecast is that the plant will produce up to 14,500 tons per year of nickel in its first phase.
With the potential for expansion to double this volume, reaching almost 30,000 tons per year of nickel, a significant number for the national mining market. The development of the Araguaia Project began in early 2022, and the forecast is that the works will be completed in two years, provided that the schedule proceeds as planned by the company.
Moreover, the nickel mining project has a lifespan of 28 years. And it will be responsible for a significant leap for Horizonte Minerals in the Brazilian market. The company already announced last year a financing package of US$ 633 million to implement the venture.
Horizonte Minerals is a national reference in the nickel mining market. It currently has two ventures in the state of Pará, the Araguaia Project and the Vermelho Project, large-scale, high-grade nickel and low carbon emission, aiming for even greater investments in the national mineral sector.
