Air Products Inaugurates Sales Center to Expand Its Storage and Distribution Capacity
The industrial landscape of Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is becoming increasingly attractive and vibrant, especially when it comes to the offshore segment of the oil and naval industries. This vitality has attracted considerable investments, opening doors for new job opportunities and the launch of innovative projects. In light of this positive dynamic, the state government recently announced a robust investment of US$ 85 billion for maritime energy generation in the coming years, with a specific focus on wind energy and green hydrogen projects.

Over a decade of operations in the region, Air Products, a multinational company that stands out in the production of industrial, specialty, and medicinal gases, has significantly contributed to this upward trend. With a complete line of gases and solutions for both onshore and offshore segments, the company meets a variety of industrial needs, from exploration and saturation diving to manufacturing, inspection, repair, and underwater maintenance.
According to Fabio Godoi, Sales Manager for Packaged Gases at Air Products, the company has a strong commitment to quality and safety in all offshore operations. “Our gases, such as oxygen, argon, nitrogen, helium, and diving mixes, ensure a high level of productivity for divers and welders who rely on the purity and accuracy of our mixtures,” says Godoi.

Expansion and Optimization: New Sale Center in Macaé
To further intensify its commitment to efficiency and safety, Air Products is inaugurating a new sales center in Macaé, aiming to expand its storage and distribution capacity. The initiative will improve customer service flexibility, reduce delivery time, and expand the variety of products offered, in addition to increasing accessibility for customers who pick up through registered carriers.
Marcus Silva, General Manager for Brazil and Argentina at Air Products, explains that safety is a central aspect of the change. “The new flammable storage area complies with the Fire Department regulations. The space is spacious and offers better accessibility and maneuverability for trucks, as well as a cover in the loading and unloading area, minimizing the risk of accidents,” emphasizes Silva.
Air Products is known for offering a wide range of products and services in the region, including pure specialty gases and mixes for processes and calibration, diving gases, industrial gases for welding and cutting, as well as offshore baskets of nitrogen and helium. “With this, we can meet nitrogen applications for inerting, purging, and leak testing, as well as helium in leak tests for detecting leaks in the pipelines of the platforms,” concludes Silva.
