The School of Public Health of the University of São Paulo (FSP-USP) is accepting applications for free master’s and doctorate courses for admission in 2025. There are open positions and the announcement for the courses at the School of Public Health is governed by the Graduate Regulations of USP and the Regulations of the Graduate Program in Public Health at the School of Public Health of USP.

Aims to identify and understand the main public policies in food and nutrition in Brazil and identify the history of the main programs and policies related to food and nutrition developed in the country and their period of validity, starting from the Webinar, Human Right to Adequate Food: Rights and Violations, Food and Nutritional Surveillance System, classroom activity: programs to combat hunger and social exclusion.

Aims to teach food practices, relationships and sociocultural contexts, built environment, food environment, and its relation to health and food, nutrients, and bioactive components in relation to nutritional disorders and other diseases impacting population health.
How To Register For The Free Master’s And Doctorate Courses At USP?
Registration for the free courses at the School of Public Health of USP must be done on the institution’s website from July 7, 2024, to August 16, 2024. You will need to fill in your personal information and generate the payment slip for the banking fee of R$ 200.
To make the payment for the registration, use the slip generated at the time of registration at any banking agency until the due date, paying attention to banking hours.
Only registrations with approved payments will be accepted, and the requested documentation specified in the announcement must be attached, where documents for both open positions and affirmative actions are described.
The candidate protected by State Law No. 12,782, of December 20, 2007, and by Decree No. 6,593, of October 2008, will be entitled to exemption from the payment of the registration fee. The candidate must send a letter with justification for the request and proof of conditions for exemption to the Program Secretary.
Selection Process
This selection process consists of three phases, with the first phase being composed of a Portuguese language test and proficiency in English.
The Portuguese test consists of a discursive-argumentative essay on a topic in Public Health Nutrition, based on current scientific literature in the area, which can be presented through scientific articles in Portuguese or English.
The second phase for the free master’s and doctorate courses at the School of Public Health of USP will take place from September 30 to October 23, 2024, and consists of analyzing the research project and the Lattes Curriculum.
Finally, the third phase consists of the examination of the candidate. For this phase, candidates may be called via email by the potential advisor for examination, depending on the interest and availability of the potential advisor.
