The National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro) announced last Wednesday (06/05) the opening of a new selection process for its Internship Program. The vacancies at Inmetro are intended for high school students with technical training and higher education students, with positions available for work both at the Inmetro campus in Xerém, Duque de Caxias, and at the central office located in Rio de Janeiro.

It is necessary to fulfill an internship workload of 4 hours a day and 20 hours a week or 6 hours a day and 30 hours a week, according to the description of the vacancies in the announcement. At the time of hiring, a minimum age of 16 years is required, as provided for in the law.
For internships in Organizational Units or in areas considered dangerous or unhealthy, the student must be at least 18 years old, as stipulated in item XXXIII of Article 7 of the Federal Constitution. It is also necessary not to have completed an internship longer than eighteen months at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology – Inmetro, except for people with disabilities.

Applications for the selection process for vacancies at Inmetro will be open from June 10 to June 21. The complete announcement, where you can find the list of eligible courses and instructions for participation, can be accessed through the Inmetro website. With a duration of six months, the internship vacancies can be renewed for up to two years.

For students with disabilities, there is a possibility of extending the internship until the end of the course. For those who are approved in the selection process for vacancies at Inmetro at the high school level with technical training, the internship scholarship is R$ 486.05 for a workload of four hours a day, totaling 20 hours per week.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SELECTION PROCESS
For higher education students, the scholarship varies according to the workload, being R$ 1,125.69 for six hours a day, that is, 30 hours a week, and R$ 787.98 for four hours a day (20 hours a week). In addition, all interns will receive a transport allowance of R$ 10.00 per day of the internship, as well as a 15-day consecutive break every six months.
Selection Process For The Internship Vacancies At Inmetro
After registering, the candidate will have to take a multiple-choice test for the vacancies at Inmetro, provided in an online test format.
The multiple-choice test will consist of objective questions to evaluate the candidate’s knowledge in the areas of Portuguese, with 11 questions, mathematics and logical reasoning, with 7 questions, computer skills with 8 questions, and general knowledge with 15 questions.
For all vacancies, the test is classificatory and eliminatory, administered exclusively online, with 41 multiple-choice questions, compatible with the education level for which the candidate applied. Only candidates who score equal to or greater than 60% of the total test score will be classified.
