The measure is aimed exclusively at Military Police squares who retired as soldiers, corporals, sergeants or warrant officers.
According to the notice, the maximum period of stay in the new positions will be one year, with the possibility of extension.
The working day will be eight hours, with the right to vacation, as expected.
Administrative function and selection criteria
The positions offered are all for administrative services. Therefore, the police officers who are selected will continue to have inactive status.
This means that they will not be able to wear the uniform or compete for promotions.
The selection will give preference to those who already have experience in the corporation's internal routines.
According to the Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, the measure seeks to reinforce ostensive policing. “It is another step towards replenishing the Military Police force in the state”, He stated.
Reserve military maintains ties with the corporation
Even after retirement, reserve police officers remain linked to the Military Police.
Captain Gustavo Maciel, from the Sub-Secretariat for Monitoring Strategic Projects at the SSP, explained that, unlike other public servants, these military personnel continue to respond to the military code.
Even if inactive, the police officer remains subject to disciplinary regulations, since he is not broke the link with the institution, unlike what happens with retirees from other areas, explained Maciel.
With the new call, the government hopes to release more agents onto the streets without immediately increasing the number of active officers.
The objective is to make the service more efficient, especially in municipalities where there is a greater demand for visible policing.
