New Office of Intermarine and SAL Companies to Open in São Paulo and Meet the Needs of Clients Worldwide

With the establishment of the joint office, the two companies Intermarine and SAL, specialists in heavy cargo transportation and logistics, aim to strengthen their operations in South America and expand their activities in the project cargo and breakbulk sectors. Intermarine, as an agent of Industrial Maritime Carriers, LLC, is a provider of maritime transportation services for project cargo, breakbulk, and heavy cargo in the Americas. SAL Heavy Lift specializes in the maritime transportation of heavy and project cargo.

The change comes after SAL Heavy Lift acquired a significant stake in Intermarine last year. With this acquisition, SAL expanded its fleet with more vessels capable of operating not only within and outside South America but also in other locations. Both Intermarine and SAL have been considering for some time expanding their commitment to the Brazilian market in an effort to strengthen their presence in the Americas.

With experienced personnel in the commercial and chartering areas, the new office will focus on meeting the needs of clients worldwide, supporting Intermarine’s Americas Liner Service and SAL Heavy Lift’s heavy cargo transportation activities.

“Brazil has many opportunities – especially in the energy, renewable, and oil and gas infrastructure arenas. With the combined services of Intermarine and SAL, our team has a very strong product for the market, and I am eager to grow the business and the brands alongside the rest of the international teams,” commented Natalie Jones, a veteran in the breakbulk and Brazilian project cargo sector who will lead the new office.

The office will aim for growth occurring in the industrial, renewable, offshore oil and gas, and energy sectors in Brazil and South America in general, alongside the teams from Intermarine and SAL in Houston and New Orleans, USA, and Hamburg, Germany.
