The City of Macaé in Rio de Janeiro Was Chosen for the Launch of Promar – Revitalization and Incentive Program for Maritime Field Production.
The Promar initiative in Macaé was approved earlier this month in December by the National Energy Policy Council, which aims to stimulate better utilization of oil resources in mature maritime fields, with special attention to the Campos Basin. The current performance in Brazil’s pre-salt, which accounts for nearly 70% of national production, deserves due recognition. However, it is important to remember that in the recent past, production from the post-salt offshore fields, especially in the Campos Basin, was responsible for over 90% of national production, sustaining many years of technological initiatives for success in new exploratory frontiers, especially to make production in these high-productivity fields viable, classified as world-class assets.
