Macaé receives excellent news: ANP authorizes Petrobras to assign 10 concession contracts in shallow waters in the Campos basin
Great news for Macaé! The ANP has just authorized and Petrobras will transfer 10 concession contracts it had in the shallow waters of the Campos basin to the company Trident Energy do Brasil. If Petrobras ceded access to its infrastructure, Rio Grande do Norte could double its natural gas supply.

The municipality of Macaé, which was recently recognized in Brazil as the oil capital, received this news very well, since the city is the base of many companies in the oil sector.
The news was echoed in the Federal Chamber and deputy Christino Áureo (PP), who chairs the Commission for the Sustainable Development of Petroleum and Renewable Energy, declared: “It will be an important step towards job creation, since the region will receive strong investment. Especially at the time of economic recovery post-pandemic of the new coronavirus ".
Petrobras – Divestment of one, investment of another
As is generally known, Petrobras is undergoing a major divestment program and the 10 contracts referenced in this article are part of this package and are located in the Pampo and Anchova complexes, more precisely in the fields of Badejo, Bicudo, Bonito, Enchova Oeste, Enchova, Linguado, Marimbá, Pampo, Piraúna and Trilha.
Macaé expects private initiative investments of around US$ 1 billion in these fields, aiming at an increase of 203,5 million barrels of oil in production in these areas in shallow waters of the Campos basin, which according to the ANP, in the last 10 years there was a 50% drop in production.
Based in Macaé, Oil States Brazil rescues subsea pipeline in Campos Basin gas pipeline
Oil States Brasil, which has its headquarters in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, informed today (08/07) that it mobilized in record time to perform an emergency service on a gas pipeline under construction in the Campos Basin.
The company points out that for the rescue in the subsea pipeline in the Campos Basin, the well-known Oil States tool for internal subsea pipeline lifting (ILT) was used, which has a customizable range of nominal pipeline diameters and is operated hydraulically, both from the ship's deck and also via ROV.
