Investment for UFPR Solar Power Plant Reaches R$ 21 Million
According to the Coordinator of the Energy Efficiency Project at UFPR and Superintendent of Funpar, over R$ 20 million were invested just in R&D (Research and Development) in this action, which generally involves all the buildings of UFPR.
According to the coordinator, the solar power plant has a capacity of 1.2MW and over 55,000 LED lamps will still be installed in the buildings, thus bringing significant savings, amounting to R$ 2 million per year. In total, there are more than 2,300 panels over the 375 parking spaces of the biological sciences sector, in addition to more than 530 modules on the roofs of the engineering and electrical buildings.
