Field ceded to Petrobras, Búzios exceeds 600 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in January 2020
Located in the Santos Basin, Campo de Búzios broke a record and produced 601,7 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in January this year, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

For the first time in history, an asset exceeds the 600 boed mark, where 487,3 bopd and 18,2 million m³ per day of natural gas were extracted. The field is the second largest oil and gas producer in Brazil, second only to the Lula field.
Four FPSOs are in operation in Búzios: P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77, the first of which started two operations in April 2018. Petrobras by the federal government in 2010 and since then, the asset has not been responsible for large productions.
At the end of last year, Petrobras also auctioned the excess volumes of the onerous assignment, in an auction promoted by the ANP.
Sapinhoá, Jubarte and Sul de Lula are on the list of the five largest pre-salt producing fields, with production of 308,1 thousand boed, 187,5 thousand boed and 74,6 thousand boed, respectively.
For the next years 2020-2024, Petrobras intends to invest US$ 18 billion in the development of Búzios, with the installation of eight more production units, including Búzios V (Almirante Barroso).
