MEC Offers 7.5 Thousand Spots in Free Online E-Learning Improvement Course in Education in Human Rights, Without Selection Process and With Guaranteed Certificate, Available to All of Brazil
The Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MEC), has launched a significant initiative for education in Brazil: over 7,5 thousand spots are available for the free E-Learning Extension and Improvement Course in Education in Human Rights and Diversities.
Named “Educating Yourself and Educating for the Construction of a Society Based on Human Rights,” this program is 100% certified by MEC and stands out in promoting inclusive education and fostering a diverse and comprehensive civic awareness.

Course Structure
With a total workload of 180 hours, the course is offered in Distance Education (E-Learning – online) format and is organized into five modules:
- General Unit: Course presentation and orientation on the Moodle platform.
- Unit I: Fundamentals of education in human rights, addressing diversities, children and adolescents, and the strengthening of the state as a protector of rights.
- Unit II: Sexual and gender diversity, women’s rights, focusing on understanding to combat distortions that deny rights.
- Unit III: Nonviolent communication, culture of peace in schools, and the power of communication based on human rights.
- Unit IV: Issues involving foreigners, refugees, and stateless persons in Brazil, and the situation of indigenous peoples in the territory.
Spots and Target Audience
Of the total 7,560 spots in the free course, 5,400 are reserved for active public school basic education teachers, with a distribution of 200 spots per state and the Federal District. The remaining 2,160 spots are intended for other professionals working in public basic education, with 80 spots per state and the Federal District.
