Mariel Reyes Milk, Founder and CEO of {reprograma}, says that the initiative will help break false paradigms and show that careers in technology are also for women.
“There is a social and cultural history that prevents women, from childhood, from believing that they can work in technology. Research shows that starting at the age of 6, girls begin to think they are not good at math, creating an intellectual mindset that computers are just for boys,” she explains.
Requirements to Apply for Mercado Livre Scholarships: Time and commitment of 7 hours per week and a willingness to learn. No prior knowledge in the field is required to participate, but spots are limited.
Mercado Livre Registration: Registrations will be open until July 1, at this link.
