New Electric Truck From Mercedes-Benz Is Announced And Impresses With Its Great Potential. Large Electric Vehicle Delivers Up To 1 Thousand Km Of Range With A Single Charge.
Mercedes-Benz revealed this week the eActros 600, the new generation of electric truck for long distances from the German automaker. The electric cargo truck, which had already been seen on the roads of Europe, arrives as a more subdued alternative to the Tesla Semi and the typical design of European trucks.
Mercedes-Benz Electric Truck Delivers 500 Km Of Range With Heavy Loads And Twice With Light Loads
The electric truck eActros 600 is based on an 800-volt architecture and features two electric motors. The maximum power is 600 kilowatts, equivalent to nearly 816 horsepower. The electric truck from Mercedes-Benz comes with three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries on board with a capacity of 621 kilowatt-hours.
The estimated range with just one charge carrying 40 tons is approximately 500 km. The daily range rises to 1,000 km when carrying lighter loads and with short stops for recharges along the way. The model features a four-speed transmission developed specifically for heavy long-distance transport.

Sales boom: Automotive sector enters an accelerated pace in 2026 after new car sales reached the best result since 2013 and boosted automakers in Brazil.
Charging can be done at 400 kW; however, the electric truck from Mercedes-Benz can support up to one megawatt of DC power. The EV will receive suitable components as soon as megawatt charging technology becomes available, according to information from Mercedes.
The list of features for the electric model includes power take-offs, electromechanical systems that allow operation of hydraulic or mechanical work equipment, and more. Inside, the model’s layout is very conventional, with the steering wheel on one side of the cabin and a pair of screens, one for the digital instrument panel and another for the entertainment system.
Large Electric Truck Has One-Year Warranty With Unlimited Miles
A variety of safety systems are also present in the model, along with four short-range radars and one long-range radar, and a windshield camera with a 270-degree view.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the electric truck is covered by a warranty of 12 months with unlimited miles, while the electric powertrain is covered by a warranty of up to 36 months (or 360 km). The batteries benefit from a longer warranty period, of 72 months or 720,000 km, and 1,800 charging cycles, whichever comes first.
Mercedes Also Invests In Hydrogen-Powered Vehicle
In addition to this electric truck from Mercedes-Benz, a hydrogen-powered prototype from the company, approved for public road traffic, traveled a distance of 1,047 km on German roads. The truck, called GenH2, powered by a fuel cell system, features a liquid hydrogen tank.
Thus, for this validation, the GenH2 departed from Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ Customer Service Center in Wörth am Rhein, heading to Berlin, the capital of Germany. The journey took place in one day.
The hydrogen-powered truck operated with a gross weight of 40 tons and under real conditions. Thus, it completed the journey without emitting CO2. For this, the operation was subject to inspection and certification by TüV Rheinland, the German vehicle and technology certification body.
Before the trip, the hydrogen-powered truck from Mercedes was fueled with liquid fuel, supplied by Air Liquide and sourced from renewable origins, meaning it was produced from biomethane with guaranteed origin. Additionally, the liquid hydrogen was filled into two 40 kg tanks, both installed on either side of the truck chassis. Due to the insulation of the tanks, the hydrogen was able to be maintained at the ideal temperature for a sufficiently long time.
