Encouraging activities and the use of bicycles during Bicycle Month helps people improve safety during the pandemic and contributes to better physical health.
The Pedala Macaé project will be held throughout June, known as Bicycle Month, and aims to energize the oil capital and increasingly encourage the use of this mode of transport. “The project is closely related to the city and will engage the population, both economically and physically,” says Aromeiazero’s director, Murilo Casagrande.
With the use of bicycles, it is also possible to achieve extra income, something that many people seek during these times of high unemployment and lack of opportunities. “We also want to encourage entrepreneurship in the cycling world. It is possible to earn a living through bicycles. Data from Aliança Bike (Brazilian Bicycle Sector Association) shows that the sector is in full growth. The Viver de Bike project is aimed at that,” explains the Ocyan coordinator.
According to Aliança Bike, in 2020, 1,079 new jobs were created through the bicycle market. And for 2021, even greater numbers are expected with this project during Bicycle Month.
