Milei Authorizes Importation of Powdered Eggs and Pork Offals, Expanding Space for Brazilian Agriculture in a Growing Argentinian Market
The Brazilian government announced new commercial achievements with two partners from MERCOSUL. The negotiations reinforce the presence of agriculture in strategic markets and consolidate recent advances in market opening.
New Products for Argentina
Brazil and Argentina completed a sanitary agreement that authorizes the export of powdered eggs for animal feed, raw materials for pork, and “in natura” pork offals.
This advancement strengthens commercial integration between the two countries. Argentina, with over 45 million inhabitants, is experiencing growth in the “pet” products market and increasing demand for inputs aimed at animal nutrition.

In 2024, Brazil exported over US$ 1.5 billion in agricultural products to Argentina, with highlights on agroforestry, cocoa, and coffee. With this negotiation, Brazilian agriculture has achieved 425 market openings since 2023.
Expansion in Paraguay
Brazil also signed a phytosanitary agreement with Paraguay to export chia seeds.
The measure primarily opens opportunities for small and medium rural producers, located in the Midwest, western Paraná, and northwestern Rio Grande do Sul. Chia production represents an important source of income for these regions.
Therefore, the new market reinforces the diversification of Brazilian exports and creates business alternatives for farmers betting on differentiated crops.
In 2024, Brazil exported about US$ 963 million in agricultural products to Paraguay. Now, the number of market openings has reached 426 since the beginning of 2023.
Both advancements are the result of the integrated efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
According to the government, the strategy strengthens agriculture, expands business opportunities, and ensures greater Brazilian presence in growing regional markets.
