According to Zema, “Solar energy generation has been a good alternative (for companies), so there is this effect that ends up helping with the investment”.
Creation of Nearly Five Thousand Jobs In Minas Gerais
The crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has already led Minas Gerais to lose 88,000 jobs. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in the Northern region of the state.

Aurora Energias is one of the companies responsible for one of the main projects in Minas Gerais, having a solar plant with an installed capacity of 700MW. The operation of the structure is expected to begin in the first half of 2023.
According to Fernando Passalio, Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat of Economic Development, more than 50 private initiative projects will be implemented throughout the state of Minas Gerais.
In addition to the R$ 5.6 billion already guaranteed, Minas Gerais expects this amount to reach R$ 9 billion by the end of 2020 – the figure corresponds to initiatives that have already had their projects signed and are scheduled to be implemented throughout the year.
Among the projects is the inauguration of a factory by Grupo Petrópolis in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro, with an investment of R$ 700 million. With the new enterprise, the expectation is that 400 new jobs will be created in the region.
