MInfra Signs New Exploration Contracts in Terminals in Pará
In two years, MInfra has signed 78 adhesion contracts with companies, representing R$ 6 billion in investments in Pará’s terminals. New investments in the Northern region of the country with the signing of four new adhesion contracts for the exploration of Private Use Terminals (TUPs) in the state of Pará. They are: Petróleo Sabbá, Louis Dreyfus, Cargill, and Infrastructure Asset Manager (ABI). Together, the terminals will receive investments of R$ 616.5 million for the handling of various cargos, such as grains and fuels.

The signing of the contracts took place this Wednesday (10) by the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), through the National Secretariat of Ports and Waterway Transport.

The Minister of Infrastructure (MInfra), Tarcísio de Freitas, emphasized the importance of investment in the Northern region of the country. “This interest in investing in that region, especially with port terminals, shows that we are on the right track,” he stressed. “These are important investments for logistics and crucial for many families that will be employed now, as this journey begins to take shape,” he added. With the new contracts, the Government’s expectation is to further increase the handling of solid and liquid bulk.

Terminals
The Cargill and Louis Dreyfus terminals are on the export flow route of agricultural bulk through the Northern Arc and are responsible for the handling of solid bulk, mainly vegetable products.
According to data from the National Supply Company (Conab), from January to August last year, about 34% of soybeans sold to the external market were shipped through the ports of the Northern Arc.
The other two terminals, Petróleo Sabbá and ABI, have as their areas of influence the cities of Itaituba and Santarém. In these locations, liquid fuels will be handled, destined for storage, distribution, and regional fuel supply.
