Ministry of Education Offers Completely Free English, French, and Spanish Course With Certificate; Here’s How to Participate

Do You Want to Learn New Languages and That’s Why You Are Looking for Opportunities to Do It for Free? If So, Know That in This Article, You Will Have Access to Opportunities Granted by the Ministry of Education (MEC).

The Ministry of Education announced the opening of registrations for various classes in a free online course of three languages: English, French, and Spanish.

According to the department, all of these courses are offered by the Aprenda Mais platform, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Education created with the aim of training 820,000 students by 2025.

This training is being conducted through courses that are online, free, and come with certification, which serve to support the development of individuals in a virtual environment. The language courses are different. Therefore, below, you will see how each of these opportunities will be.

The English Course

According to the department, the free online English course will offer six options of classes. This is because each one has a different goal. Check it out:

English Course 1 – Class 2024

This focuses on personal identification and characterization; location in time and space.

English 2 – Class 2024

In this class, the student will encounter themes such as means of transportation; family; routine and habits – at home.

English 3 – Class 2024

In the third group, themes such as routine and habits; food and grocery list; clothing will be addressed.

English 4 – Class 2024

The fourth group will discuss weather conditions, present simple and present continuous; sports and leisure; likes and preferences; abilities; adverbs of manner; parts of the house and furniture; modal verbs can and may; possessive pronouns.

English Course 5 – Class 2024

In the penultimate group, the studied themes will be restaurant, food and drinks; health, human body, and diseases; places and leisure activities.

English 6 – Class 2024

Finally, in the last group, registered students will have access to themes such as adjectives, travel, courses’ review from 1 to 6.

According to the Ministry of Education, there will be a total of more than 180 hours of courses, which come with free certification at the end.

The French Course

In the French course, the number of groups is smaller. In total, there will be three classes with a workload varying from 30 to 40 hours. Check the objective of each one:

Basic French – Class 2024

In this first group, the contents covered will be the following: Présentation / Faire connaissance / À l’hôtel Soleil; La famille / La vie quotidienne and À l’aéroport / Décrire.

French Applied to Management – Class 2024

The second group will have access to themes such as Destinations touristiques / À l’aéroport; Réclamations / Faire les courses / Au restaurant and La santé et la sécurité / C’est la fête / Départ.

French Course Applied to Production and Service – Class 2024

Finally, the third group will have access to themes such as Les modes d’hébergement / L’hôtel / La réservation, Réserver / L’accueil and Services / La restauration.

According to the MEC, to request the certificate, students, who must have reading comprehension in French and have equipment with audio and video resources, need to wait at least five days from the registration date.

The Spanish Course

In the Spanish course, there will be ten classes and more than 300 hours of courses, which come with free certification at the end. Each of them, just like in the opportunities for English and French, will have distinct objectives. See;

Spanish 1 – Class 2024

In this group one, themes such as greetings and farewells, alphabet, personal pronouns, verbs ser, estar, vivir, and ser llamado; professions, definite articles, interrogative and exclamative pronouns, cardinal numbers, verb ‘tener’; origin and nationality, indefinite articles, nouns, identifying adjectives, rules for pluralizing words, recognizing ordinal numerals will be covered.

Spanish 2 – Class 2024

In this group two, students will encounter topics such as introducing someone; relationship; requesting information using the verbs haber, estar, and tener; commercial establishments; ei/ouvi, excuse me/excuse me, pardon/excuse me); conjugation of regular verbs visitar, comer, and salir in the present indicative; means of transportation; cardinal numbers from 30 to 100.

Spanish 3 – Class 2024

Here, the student will learn to identify and locate the rooms of a house or apartment; recognize and position furniture and interior objects; ordinal numbers from 31st to 100th; identify words and expressions related to phone usage; hours, days of the week, and times of the day; irregular verbs in the present indicative; prepare an invitation for someone; verbs in the present indicative; names of some sports.

Spanish 4 – Class 2022

In this course, themes such as regular and irregular reflexive verbs in the present indicative; adverbs of time; names of some fruits, vegetables, and foods; gerund; numbers from 101 to 100,000; some communicative structures for buying and selling; some clothing items, colors, and textures; the uses of “muy” and “mucho”; some verbs that express opinion or interest conjugated in the third person singular or plural will be discussed.

Spanish 5 – Class 2024

The Future Imperfect; Regular verbs in the future (visitar, conhecer, sair); Verbal paraphrase: go to +infinitive; Months of the year; The seasons of the year; Parts of the human body; Diseases and symptoms; The verb hurt; The verb stay (oneself); Simple conditional: use and forms; Apocope; Accentuation.

Spanish 6 – Class 2024

Differential accent of monosyllables; Kitchen utensils; Imperative verbs; Orientation verbs and Location Expressions; Expressing the idea of necessity or obligation; Conjunction Y/E; Conjunction O/U; Traditional holidays.

Spanish 7 – Class 2024

Vocabulary of academic events; Regular and irregular verbs in the present indicative; Verbal paraphrases of obligation; Adverbial locutions of place; Use of prepositions; Verbs in the future imperfect; Information at the airport; The future with verbs in the present indicative; Simple past perfect; Temporal markers; Verbs ser and ir in the simple past perfect.

Spanish 8 – Class 2024:

The parts of the newspaper; Irregular verbs in the past perfect simple; Rules of accentuation in Spanish; Heterotonic words and heterosemantic words; Describing and identifying people; Holidays; Regular and irregular participle of verbs; Temporal markers and Past Perfect compound; Idiomatic expressions in Spanish; The beaches.

Spanish 9 – Class 2024

Relation and contrast between the past tenses; Temporal markers and their role with verb tenses; The rhythms; On the plane; The imperfect past of the verbs; Uses of the imperfect past; Pronouncing: ‘b’ and ‘v’; In the airport waiting area; Contrast between the simple past perfect and imperfect; Cuban literature.

Spanish 10 – Class 2024

Asking for information; At the bus line; At the station; The use of lo as a pronoun; Use of lo as a Neuter Article; The musical rhythms; In the hotel room; In the scene; The soap operas; Very and much; The past perfect; Formation of the Past Perfect; Likes and preferences to a greater or lesser degree; Adjectives and degrees of comparison.
