The automaker advances with plans to have its own factory in Brazil, in Manaus. This will be its first unit outside India.
Bajaj, an Indian motorcycle manufacturer, is consolidating its plans to establish its own factory in Brazil, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Brazilian market. According to the executive director of Bajaj Auto, Rakesh Sharma, the new plant will be installed in Manaus and is expected to start operating within 12 months, with a production capacity of up to 20 thousand motorcycles a month.
Strategic investment to strengthen the automaker's presence in Brazil and Latin America
Still according to Sharma, the decision to build a factory in Brazil is driven by the size and complexity of the Brazilian market, which requires a long-term presence. The automaker seeks to gain insights into product development and customer behavior by being present locally, which will strengthen its presence in the region and in Latin America.
The future Bajaj factory in Brazil will mark an important milestone, as it will be the automaker's first unit outside India. In addition to producing its own bikes, the factory will also assemble low-displacement models of the KTM brand, following the example of the Bajaj plants in India, where they produce motorcycles from 125 to 390 cc from the Austrian brand.

Solid growth in the Brazilian market with the new factory
After less than a year of presence in the Brazilian market, Bajaj has already won more than 1.400 licensed motorcycles, with the Dominate 400 model being the best selling so far. The automaker has already established eight dealerships in different cities in Brazil and has plans to expand to other capitals, such as Belo Horizonte and Salvador.
The installation of the factory in Manaus marks an important step for Bajaj, consolidating its position in Brazil and paving the way for further growth and success in the country's competitive motorcycle market. With a forward-looking strategy and investments in local production, the automaker reinforces its commitment to innovation and meeting the needs of Brazilian and Latin American customers.
