The Torre Rise in Monterrey will be 484 meters tall and have up to 101 floors, surpassing the Gran Torre Costanera in Chile by nearly 180 meters — construction has already surpassed the 52nd floor and 306 meters in height, but there are still 170 meters to go before the top, expected between 2026 and 2027
Monterrey is erecting a 484-meter tower that will dethrone all skyscrapers in Latin America. The Torre Rise, designed by the firm Pozas Arquitectos, has already passed the 52nd floor and exceeded 306 meters, surpassing the Obispado Towers that held the regional record since 2020. There are still about 170 meters to the top.
When completed, it will be the 2nd tallest tower in the Americas, second only to One World Trade Center in New York, and will enter the top 13 in the world. The expected completion is between late 2026 and 2027, according to Gizmodo Brasil.
The Torre Rise is located in the Obispado area, between Constitución and Hidalgo avenues, along the banks of the Santa Catarina River. The mixed-use project combines offices, residences, a hotel, and retail in a structure that promises to redefine the Latin American urban skyline.

The Numbers of Torre Rise
- Projected height: 484 meters (including spire)
- Floors: up to 101 (96 usable + 5 underground)
- Offices: 35 corporate floors
- Residential: 22 floors
- Hotel: 10 high-standard levels
- Commercial: 4 floors
- Previous record: Gran Torre Costanera, Chile (300 m) | Obispado Towers, Monterrey (305 m)
- World ranking: 13th tallest when completed

Where the construction stands in 2026
In March 2026, the Torre Rise surpassed 306 meters, officially exceeding the Obispado Towers that had 305 meters. This milestone is symbolic: for the first time, the tallest building in Latin America is actively under construction, not completed.
Recent videos show the structure at the 52nd floor. The cranes at the top signal that the work pace remains fast. The difference between the current height and the projected height is still 170 meters, equivalent to a 50-story building.
In October 2025, the project announced an official height increase from 475 to 484 meters, including an architectural spire. Other vertical megaprojects, such as towers and skyscrapers that challenge modern engineering, face similar scheduling challenges.

Skydeck 360° and zip line at 400 meters high
The top of the Rise Tower will house a Skydeck 360° with panoramic views on 3 levels above 400 meters. The attraction will include a zip line installed at this altitude, promising to be one of the highest on the continent.
Monterrey, surrounded by the Sierra Madre Oriental, offers a natural setting that enhances the visual experience. From the viewpoint, visitors will have simultaneous views of the mountains, the urban valley, and the desert to the north.
The tower will also be connected to the city’s metro system, the airport, and the stadium that will host matches of the 2026 World Cup, positioning Monterrey as a tourist and business hub in Mexico.

How the Rise Tower compares to the tallest in the world
At 484 meters, the Rise Tower will surpass the Gran Torre Costanera in Santiago (300 m) by a wide margin — 184 meters difference, equivalent to a 60-story building. It will also be 179 meters above the neighboring Obispado Towers.
In the global ranking, it will enter the 13th position. In the Americas, it will be surpassed only by the One World Trade Center in New York. The race for record skyscrapers continues strong globally, but Latin America has so far been out of the game.
It is worth noting that sources present inconsistencies between 475 and 484 meters, and between 94 and 101 floors. The expected completion between 2026 and 2027 depends on construction conditions and may face delays. For details, consult Gizmodo and Wikipedia.
