“It was another challenging year that filled us with pride, both for the results achieved and for the dedication of our team to deliver the best solutions to our clients. We also recorded significant improvements in operational efficiency indicators and increased productivity across all stages of the logistics chain. These gains are perceived by both customers and our team, strengthening the building of trust-based relationships with all the company’s partners. This is an intangible asset that makes all the difference in building a sustainable and long-term relationship,” says Rodrigo Casado, CEO and President of Movecta.
The Ebitda before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of Movecta reached an unprecedented value, increasing from R$ 79 million in 2022 to R$ 105 million last year, representing a 33% advance in the period.
“To continue the structured growth of Movecta, we plan investments of over R$ 100 million until 2026. This is yet another initiative that reaffirms our commitment established with the launch of the new brand Movecta: to invest heavily in infrastructure to continuously improve the level of service offered to our customers, as well as advance in our digital transformation and streamline our solution offerings, always aiming to generate value and expand the businesses of our clients. Internally, we will focus on driving growth in new revenues, strengthening recurrence through a strategy of intimacy with customers, and optimizing profitability through efficient operations, productivity, and commercial strategies,” details the executive.
A significant portion of the revenue increase for Movecta last year can be attributed to the increase in the movement of refrigerated cargo at the ports where the company operates (Suape, Santos, and Itajaí), with an increase of 11% in the period, and highlights for pharmaceutical products, which had an increase of 28%. In total, 83 thousand containers were handled at Movecta terminals across the country in 2023.
Another area that contributed to the increase in the company’s revenues last year was the handling and storage of fractional cargo. This type of service, which requires technical and specialized knowledge, ended up boosting the revenue of Movecta, especially in the port cities where it operates. “We noticed a higher demand from companies seeking cost-sharing in containers. This type of service has grown significantly, demonstrating our expertise in meeting logistical demands of companies,” says Casado.
Last year, Movecta announced investments of R$ 50 million in a distribution center in Itajaí (SC), expanding the range of logistics solutions in the region. The space has 7,400 square meters dedicated to storage operations and is the company’s second CD in the city, which now totals over 10,000 square meters available in the region. Investments for the CD are planned through 2026.
“In addition to these local investments, we will ensure the effective implementation of the guidelines defined in our strategic planning, sustaining the growth of Movecta in a structured manner. Our goal is to consolidate Movecta as one of the leading providers of logistics solutions in the country, distinguished by our proximity to the client and excellence in all areas of our business,” explains Bernardo Costa, Director of Strategy and Transformation.
Another important revenue component came from the expansion of the company’s logistics solution offerings, such as the transportation of solar and wind cargo, specialization in operations requiring high complexity, and the expansion of logistics services in customs terminals and distribution centers, such as labeling and packaging.
