Transpetro President Spoke at the Rio Pipeline Expo About the Company’s Investments to Combat Theft in Pipelines
During the opening ceremony of Rio Pipeline 2019, the largest pipeline trade show in Brazil, the president of Transpetro (Petrobras’ logistics arm), Antonio Rubens Silvino, spoke about the changes that the subsidiary will undergo with the Sale of Refineries and Terminals.
The president also discussed the strategy to be a leader in transportation and logistics, focusing on oil, derivatives, biofuels, and natural gas in Brazil, while being competitive and profitable.
“We are very confident and optimistic regarding the outlook for the oil and gas market in Brazil. The regulatory environment will ensure the necessary means for full competition, with an equitable environment for all stakeholders involved,” declared the company’s president.

Rio Pipeline 2019 began today (3rd) at the SulAmérica Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro and will run until September 5th.
Protection of Pipelines
At a time when there is much talk about fuel theft in Petrobras pipelines, Silvino also addressed investments in this security segment.
The declared investments at Rio Pipeline will amount to R$ 1.2 billion over the next five years and will be based on the implementation of the Integrated Pipeline Protection Program, Pró-Dutos, which aims to reduce theft occurrences in pipelines by 75%.
Still during the Rio Pipeline, the president of Transpetro stated that there has already been a significant reduction of about 30% in theft cases, although it is not definitive yet.
Silvino also highlighted the increase in reports through channel 168 and noted that public awareness has grown and helped in this regard.
