Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan Surprises The Sedan Market: For R$ 50 Thousand, It Delivers 10 Km/L Of Consumption And An Impressive Autonomy Of 512 Km, Challenging Competitors Of Weight.

The Brazilian automotive market offers various options for used sedans that balance performance, comfort, and cost-effectiveness. Among them, the used Mitsubishi Lancer has been attracting the attention of consumers looking for a robust vehicle, with a sporty design and packed with safety features. The sedan version of Mitsubishi manages to surprise with its performance and aggressive style, even when facing heavyweight competitors like the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Nissan Sentra.

Although it was discontinued in 2017, the Mitsubishi Lancer remains a popular choice among car enthusiasts. With prices in the range of R$ 50 thousand, this sedan offers an autonomy of 512 km, with an average consumption of 10 km/L, making it one of the favorites in the used sedan segment in the automotive market.

The Mitsubishi Lancer: A Differentiated Alternative In The Used Sedan Automotive Market

While the Lancer may seem like an unexpected choice for some, it stands out in a market dominated by more conventional models. The best-selling mid-size sedans, such as Corolla, Civic, and Sentra, do not please all audiences. Many drivers are looking for a vehicle with a sportier look and differentiated attributes, which makes Mitsubishi’s car an excellent option.

Launched in Brazil at the end of 2011 and locally assembled from 2014, the Lancer came to compete with models like the Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta. It offers not only an attractive look but also a robust mechanical set and packed with safety items.

The version with a 2.0 engine of 160 hp, with seven airbags, ABS brakes with EBD and BAS, among other features, still attracts many consumers looking for a used car with an excellent cost-benefit ratio.

The Performance Of The Mitsubishi Lancer In The Automotive Market: Performance And Consumption

In terms of performance, the Lancer surprises, even without the “power” of the sporty Evolution version. Equipped with a 2.0 16V aluminum engine, the Lancer delivers 160 hp and 20.1 mkgf of torque, sufficient to provide a good driving experience, especially when considering its affordable price.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 11.1 seconds, and its urban consumption is 8.5 km/L, reaching 11.5 km/L on highways, placing it among the most efficient mid-size sedans in its category.

With a CVT transmission with six pre-programmed gears, the model is a solid option for those seeking comfort and drivability. The sedan also offers good interior space, ideal for families, and a trunk with 413 liters, capable of meeting day-to-day needs. Although the automotive market has changed a lot in recent years, the Mitsubishi Lancer is still a desired car for many, especially for its balance between sportiness and comfort.

Maintenance Cost And Main Problems Of The Used Lancer

When considering the purchase of a Mitsubishi, it is important to be aware of the maintenance costs and possible problems that may arise. The dealership network offers service plans, with values ranging from R$ 1,200 to R$ 2,300 every six months. However, some services like oil changes and shock absorber replacements are offered in maintenance kits at accessible prices, which facilitates the owner’s planning.

However, like any used car, the Mitsubishi sedan has some points that deserve attention. The CVT transmission, for example, showed failures in the first models due to the lack of a specific radiator for the transmission fluid, which can cause problems if not corrected.

Another common item of wear are the wheels and tires, especially due to the condition of Brazilian roads. It is worth evaluating the condition of the vehicle before purchase and checking if preventive maintenance has been performed correctly.

Why Mitsubishi Lancer Still Stands Out In The Automotive Market?

Despite being out of production since 2017, the Mitsubishi Lancer still maintains its relevance in the used automotive market, and for good reasons. It offers a robust package of standard equipment, with items such as a multimedia center, automatic air conditioning, disc brakes on all four wheels, and rain and light sensors. The interior finish may not be the most sophisticated, but it is functional and durable.

The GT model, the top-of-the-line version, features all-wheel drive, leather seats, a sunroof, xenon headlights, and several other characteristics that position it as an interesting option for those looking for a complete car without paying the price of a brand new sedan. Even with its advanced age, the used Mitsubishi Lancer continues to be a popular choice among those who value an aggressive design and reliable mechanics.
