New Fortress Energy Optimizes Operations in Brazil with SAP Business One and Ramo, Promoting Data Integration and Efficiency in the Transformation of LNG into Natural Gas.

New Fortress Energy, recognized for its performance in the global market, is implementing innovative strategies in Brazil through Ramo’s SAP Business One. With this tool, the company aims to promote robust data integration, playing a crucial role in the efficient transformation of LNG into natural gas, thus optimizing its operations in the country.

These innovative operations are a significant milestone for the energy company, which not only streamlines its processes but also strengthens its presence in the Brazilian market. By focusing on strategic expansions, New Fortress Energy is well positioned to meet the growing energy demand in Brazil. The implementation of an LNG regasification terminal reinforces this commitment, highlighting the company’s dedication to enhancing national energy infrastructure.

Implementation of SAP Business One at New Fortress Energy

The integration of SAP Business One, carried out by partner Ramo, was a key milestone in the trajectory of New Fortress Energy, enabling the energy company to optimize its operations in Brazil. After careful analysis of market options, New Fortress Energy chose SAP Business One due to SAP’s global reputation and the need for a robust system to support governance and control processes, essential for a potential IPO.

Partnership and Success in Operations

The partnership with Ramo was a strategic decision, based on positive feedback from the sector and the proximity and efficiency in sales, implementation, technical support, training, and consulting throughout the process. In 2021, New Fortress Energy acquired Golar’s operations in Brazil, abandoning IPO plans, and consolidated its presence in the country.

The entity established itself in Rio de Janeiro, with additional offices in São Francisco do Sul (SC), Belém (PA), and Barcarena (PA). Specializing in the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and electricity generation, the energy company needed a system capable of managing complex operations and integrating data between the Brazilian subsidiary and the headquarters in the U.S.

Benefits of SAP Business One for New Fortress Energy

The adoption of SAP Business One brought numerous benefits to New Fortress Energy. The system centralized financial and accounting operations in Rio de Janeiro, allowing subsidiaries to make purchase requests and perform other operations in a coordinated and integrated manner. Moreover, it facilitated the issuance of invoices and adaptation to new business demands, such as the transformation of LNG into natural gas for sale, as explained by Eduardo Gouvea, IT manager at New Fortress Energy.

Recently, New Fortress Energy inaugurated the Gas Sul Terminal (TGS) in the Bay of Babitonga, in São Francisco do Sul (SC), with an investment of 500 million reais. This is the first LNG regasification terminal in Southern Brazil, connected to the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline (Gasbol). Such an undertaking is vital for the supply of natural gas to power plants and industries in the Southern, Southeastern, and Central-Western regions.

Improvement of Processes and Strong Governance

The implementation of SAP Business One by New Fortress Energy, in partnership with Ramo, resulted in the consolidation of financial and accounting data, centralizing information in a single database. This provided a global and integrated view of the business, facilitating strategic decision-making based on accurate and up-to-date data, promoting efficiency and standardized control across all branches, regardless of location.

With the opening of the natural gas market in Brazil, a competitive environment has formed, with numerous agents on both the supply and demand sides. According to a report from the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), the Energy Research Company (EPE) projects that domestic natural gas production will increase from 51 million cubic meters in 2021 to 136 million cubic meters in 2031.

Adaptation and Support for Strategic Expansions

The flexibility of SAP Business One has been crucial for New Fortress Energy to face the challenges of a constantly evolving market. The system’s ability to adjust to the specific needs of the company, along with the continuous support from Ramo, allowed the company not only to operate efficiently but also to expand its activities and explore new business opportunities, such as large gas supply contracts.

Ramo continues to be a strategic partner for New Fortress Energy, supporting the ongoing implementation of SAP Business One and the migration to the cloud as the company expands its operations in Brazil and needs to consolidate all information with the headquarters.

<‘h2>Sustainable Growth with the Ramo Partnership

‘This partnership has been key in facing the challenges of a competitive market, ensuring operational efficiency, strong governance, and sustainable growth’, concludes Gouvea. Founded in 1982, Ramo is a company focused on enterprise management software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, based on SAP Business One technology.

Currently, the company has a base of approximately 700 SAP customers in Brazil, with 15 Business Units and five branches established in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Central-West (DF and GO), ABCD (SP), in addition to 270 partners throughout Brazil. Headquartered in São Paulo and with a subsidiary in Peru, serving the markets of Peru, Chile, and Paraguay, Ramo is a Gold partner of SAP in Brazil for the sale and implementation of SAP Business One.
