The opening of the wholesale network featured the presence of Mayor Dr. João, Valdecy Da Saúde, secretaries, councilors, and the company’s president Belmiro Gomes. The Assaí São João de Meriti is located in a strategic position on the Presidente Dutra Highway, at the height of the Via Music Hall, serving not only clients and merchants from the city but also from neighboring municipalities seeking low prices.
State Deputy Valdecy Da Saúde, who, in partnership with Dr. João, worked to establish the store in São João de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro, said that “after years of stagnation, the city hall has been working hard to attract investments that generate jobs and income for the residents of the city. I thank the president of this group, Belmiro Gomes, and Regional Director Moacir Sbardelotto. São João is making great strides and is growing.”

The wholesale group will invest R$ 80 million and about 600 new jobs, both direct and indirect, will be created.
The executive director of the supermarket, Adriano Ferreira de Souza, and the expansion manager, Renata Bezerra Mafsovich, signed a letter of intent with the Sorocaba City Hall, in the interior of São Paulo, for the construction of the new store, which is scheduled to open by the end of this year 2021. The chosen location for the installation is Av. Itavuvu, in the Northern Zone of the city, on a site of 16,880 square meters.
The executive director states that, as with the construction of the first store in Sorocaba, they are working with the support of the PAT (Worker’s Assistance Center) to assist them in filling the available positions.
