Company Launches New Electric Bike With Adjustable Torque In Canada Promising To Be The Revolution Of The Segment. New E-Bike Delivers Up To 250 Km Of Range And 85 Nm Of Torque.
If you are thinking about purchasing an electric bike, the market offers a wide variety of models to meet diverse needs, from urban rides to off-road adventures. Targeting trail lovers and challengers, Giant, a world reference in the bicycle sector, introduced the Yukon, an e-bike designed especially for adventurers. With advanced technology and robust construction, the Yukon promises superior performance on uneven terrain, making it an excellent choice for those looking to explore new paths without compromising on power and reliability.
Meet The E-Bike With Adjustable Torque
The new electric bike is an upgrade from previous electric bicycles, with two secrets: wide tires and adjustable torque. Giant’s launch is an upgrade to the Yukon, a model known for its wide tires, which are lightweight and can withstand extreme conditions, and the motor (a SyncDrive Pro 2, in partnership with Yamaha). The torque is 85 Nm, but it can be configured according to the terrain.
For example, those riding in a slippery location have an app that reduces the torque level to make the ride safer, making the new e-bike perfect for tackling different situations.

According to New Atlas, this adaptation of the electric bike occurs in milliseconds. The app can also be used to adjust motor specifications, as there are five pedal assistance options.
The 27.5-inch lightweight alloy rims of the new electric bike use Vee Snow Avalanche tires that are 4.5 inches wide. There is a central drive motor in the bottom bracket, and the down tube is a bit sturdier to accommodate a battery.
New Electric Bike With Adjustable Torque Delivers 250 Km Of Range
The new electric bike from the Taiwanese multinational is removable and offers 800 Wh, with a range of 250 km per charge. It is worth mentioning that this depends on the terrain and the type of riding, and it may be lower in some cases. It is also possible to purchase a battery extender separately.
The e-bike frame is made of aluminum, with space for a tool kit and bottle holder. The model features a 10-speed gear set and hydraulic brakes. The new electric bike with adjustable torque does not have a rear shock absorber but comes with a fork that absorbs impacts.
Previous models of Giant’s electric bike are available for international purchase; however, the new version is currently on sale only in Canada. There is no data on the expansion of availability. There, the price is 6,499 Canadian dollars, equivalent to about R$ 26,820.
Electric Bike Market Grows In Brazil
The domestic market for electric bicycles and self-propelled vehicles produced and imported 200,000 units in the last year, according to a report from the Brazilian Bicycle Sector Association (Aliança Bike). Of the 200,000 units, about 50,000 were electric bicycles and 150,000 were self-propelled vehicles, including small scooters, e-scooters, and electric bikes.
Only the niche of electric bikes grew by 12% compared to the previous year, and the association projects that the sector will grow up to 21% this year. The data is generally released at the beginning of each year; however, changes in Brazilian legislation last year led the association to change its methodology for the survey.
Considering only e-bikes, those with pedal assist, the market generated R$ 500 million. Of the total sales, 54% are for urban use, and 44% are the so-called electric mountain bikes, used in the sports niche, which have an average ticket of R$ 15,618, three times that of urban bicycles, which have an average price of R$ 5,871.
