Xiaomi Launches Smart Camera 4 With 4K Sensor, HDR, Smart Tracking, and App Control. The New Security Camera from Xiaomi Is in Pre-Sale in China for 249 Yuans.
The Xiaomi security camera has just gained a new heavyweight member: the Smart Camera 4, officially launched in China as a pre-sale item. With an 8-megapixel sensor capable of capturing images in 4K resolution, the camera promises to deliver more precise monitoring with the help of artificial intelligence, advanced night vision, and support for Wi-Fi 6.
The design is minimalistic and modern, highlighting the central lens, protected by a compact and clean body. The novelty is integrated into Xiaomi’s Mijia ecosystem and can connect with other brand devices through the Xiaomi Pengpai Zhilian, ensuring interoperability with smart home.
8 MP Sensor with f/1.6 Aperture Ensures Sharper Images Even in Low-Light Environments
The standout technical feature of the Smart Camera 4 is the 8MP sensor with an f/1.6 aperture, allowing greater light intake, resulting in clearer and more detailed images, even in poorly lit environments. The camera also features a built-in HDR mode that automatically adjusts brightness and contrast, ensuring more balanced recordings in areas with uneven lighting.

Scientists were impressed to see birds with tiny heads solving problems like large primates: crows memorize hundreds of food caches, use tools, and even pass on knowledge to the group, challenging everything that was believed about the limits of the animal brain.

Almost 10,000 km/h, 110,000 feet altitude, and New York–Paris in less than an hour: Venus Aerospace tests a rotating detonation engine and aims to transform the Stargazer into a reusable Mach 9 hypersonic plane, but still needs to prove that the promise moves beyond the prototype.

Air bubbles from 3 million years ago extracted from Antarctic ice reveal that the current level of CO₂ has already surpassed that of the ancient, warm world, when the sea was up to 20 meters higher and there were no factories or cars burning fuel.

Brazil went to China to seek money and technology to reinvent TV and bring the internet to places where fiber does not reach. The mission negotiated with the BRICS Bank led by Dilma and paved the way for a Chinese rival of Starlink to connect the Amazon.

These features, combined with 4K resolution, position the device as a robust solution for both homes and small businesses, offering high image fidelity for identifying faces, license plates, and subtle movements.
Infrared Night Vision Allows Efficient Monitoring Up to 10 Meters in Total Darkness
The night vision function of the new Xiaomi security camera is another highlight. Thanks to the built-in infrared system, the Smart Camera 4 is capable of capturing images in total darkness, with a range of up to 10 meters. This makes the model ideal for nighttime monitoring of outdoor areas or poorly lit indoor environments, such as hallways, storage rooms, and backyards.
The technology guarantees sharp images even at night, with clear detection of silhouettes and moving objects—essential for property security and residential surveillance.
Built-In Artificial Intelligence Identifies People, Animals, and Children with Dedicated 1T AI Chip
One of the major advantages of the Smart Camera 4 is the embedded 1T AI chip, which provides real-time artificial intelligence to track and differentiate movements. The system is capable of identifying people, pets, and children, sending smart notifications to the user whenever any activity is detected.
This feature is especially useful for home monitoring in households with children or pets, preventing false alarms caused by small movements or shadows. Additionally, the AI chip allows the camera to learn from the environment’s patterns, increasing accuracy over time.
Xiaomi Security Camera Comes with Wi-Fi 6 Support and 360° & 109° Gimbal Movement
The new Xiaomi security camera also features dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, offering greater stability and data transmission speed. This translates to live images with lower latency and faster loading times, even on home networks with many connected devices.
Another highlight is the built-in gimbal, which allows 360-degree horizontal movement and vertical adjustment of up to 109 degrees. This functionality ensures full coverage of the environment and can be controlled remotely via Xiaomi’s app, providing wide visibility without blind spots.
Xiaomi Smart Camera 4 Is Available for Pre-Sale in China and Currently Has No Global Release Date
The Smart Camera 4 is available for pre-sale in China for 249 Yuans, equivalent to approximately R$ 199 in direct conversion. As an incentive, Xiaomi offers a 64GB memory card as a gift for the first buyers.
Official sales start on April 18, but so far there is no confirmation regarding the arrival of the model in other markets, such as Brazil, Europe, or the United States. Nevertheless, the expectation is that the camera will reach the global market in the coming months, given the growing demand for smart security solutions.
