After much speculation and rumors, Chevrolet finally enters the final testing phase with its new S10. The pickup, which many expected to be a fusion with the Chevrolet Colorado, its American sister.
The redesign promises deep changes that affect both the exterior and the interior of the vehicle. The inspiration for the new S10 comes directly from the recently updated Chevrolet Colorado.
With a huge front grille, available in chrome or Black Piano finishes, and headlights and fog lights now in full LED, the new S10 aims to show that it has changed – and for the better. The wheels also receive an upgrade, with options that go up to 20 inches.

Engine Maintained, but Enhanced
In terms of engine, there are no big surprises. The robust 2.8 turbo diesel continues to be the heart of the pickup, but now with the possibility of delivering more than the current 200 horsepower and 51 kgfm of torque.
The big news is the new 10-speed automatic transmission, which promises to significantly improve fuel consumption averages, especially at cruising speeds.
The interior is not left behind. The S10 gains more premium materials, such as leather in larger areas, and new features like a premium sound system from Bose, an 11.3-inch multimedia screen with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 360º camera system.
Safety and Equipment
Even maintaining the base of the current generation, the new S10 brings advances in safety. Equipped with collision alert, autonomous emergency braking, and blind spot alert, the pickup does its best within the limitations of the platform.
It is undeniable that the Chevrolet S10 is making a leap in quality and equipment to try to regain the sales lost to the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger.
Although many fans are disappointed that this is not a new generation, the redesign is deep and brings several improvements. The big question remains: will it be enough to face the competition that comes in strong? Only time will tell.
