The New Electric Cars and Batteries Factory by BYD Is Still in Negotiation, However, the Company’s Team Is Already in Bahia to Speed Up the Process
BYD is about to make the definitive announcement of its electric cars and batteries factory in Bahia, Brazil. Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT) shared additional information about the progress of the negotiations and the measures taken by the Chinese giant to enable the reactivation of the former Ford factory, according to the Insideevs website.
According to the governor, BYD is advancing in the negotiations and already has a team in Brazil dedicated to the establishment of the electric cars factory in Camaçari, Bahia. Additionally, purchases of ships by BYD for the transportation of materials and finished cars were mentioned.
The expectation is that the official announcement will be made in July, when BYD will take responsibility for the assembly, renovation, and acquisition of the necessary equipment for building the electric cars and batteries factory in Bahia. Due to the complexity of the negotiations between the two companies and the involvement of federal and state governments, some confidential details have not been disclosed at this time.
