GE Renewable is building a new wind blade plant to accelerate development of the largest plant offshore wind power in the world

Being built in the northwest of England in a small town called Teesside, GE's new wind turbine blade factory aims to produce for wind turbines of the 107 meter long offshore wind power plants used in the X-Haliade from GE, a production that will be in charge of LM Wind Power.

It is planned for 2023 the operation of the new factory of wind blades, built by GE, which will contribute to the creation of approximately 750 direct jobs in renewable energies and around 1500 indirect jobs in the area of ​​its implementation.

The new offshore wind blade factory is also an implementation of the British Government's strategy to develop jobs, infrastructure and supply chains, thus achieving the target of 40GW of offshore wind energy expected by 2030.

Offshore wind farm

The offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank, is the largest investment in offshore wind energy in the world and plays a major role in the British desire to increase capacity and supply of energy to the United Kingdom.

It will be built in 3 phases, and will have an installed production capacity of 3,6 GW, with the Haliade-X GE offshore wind turbine. In addition, it will be able to generate electricity to power 6 million homes in the United Kingdom.

According to project director Steve Wilson, the company is very proud to say that the park is the anchor project for today's announcement of GE's new offshore wind blade production facility.

The growth of offshore wind

This energy market has been progressing a lot, especially in the United States, after conquering Europe. The forecast is that the country will build parks on a large scale by 2023, with the expectation of reaching 10GW by 2026.

Brazil has also explored this market a lot. The country has the potential to deploy up to 700GW of offshore wind energy. Thus, this type of energy can contribute to the growth of the source in Brazil, with the construction of large parks on the high seas and high energy generation.
