Positive impact with the arrival of the solar power plant
Generating more job openings and internship opportunities, both directly and indirectly, this could be the solution for the economy of the state of Ceará. Without a doubt, this was the requirement that was missing for Semace to issue the installation license for the enterprise, designed to operate with six plants, generate 216,7 megawatts, in an area of 454 hectares of three farms located in Icó, in the Central-Central region. South. The document will be issued with a list of conditions, which expand the control and ensure the mitigation of environmental impacts.
About the plant project
With this project of a solar power plant, the impacts listed in the study are more positive than negative. According to the responsible biologist, Luis Augusto Cordeiro, “they are relatively smaller than in wind energy plants and much smaller in relation to the construction of a hydroelectric plant”.
Negative impacts will be more frequent during the installation phase of the complex, when the positive impacts on the region's economy are greatest. According to the project's technical manager, Miguel Lobo, Bom Lugar Norte will generate, in the initial phase, 400 direct jobs and 700 indirect ones. The work is scheduled to start in the second half of 2021 and should last a year.
