New Plug-In Hybrid Sedan from Chery Hits the Chinese Market and Promises to Be the Most Luxurious of the Brand. The Chery Arrizo 8 Features a New Engine and Excellent Performance.
The Arrizo 6, sold in Brazil by Caoa Chery, has just gained a powerful sibling in the Asian market. This is the new Chery Arrizo 8 sedan, which was introduced by Chery as a new luxury plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sedan. Due to the presence of various brands in China, the model was presented as Fengyun A8.
Chery Plug-In Hybrid Sedan Achieves 23.8 km/L
The new Chery Arrizo 8 boasts an impressive range of 1,400 km by combining the engines of the plug-in hybrid system (gasoline and battery). According to the brand, the Chery plug-in hybrid sedan achieves 23.8 km/L in hybrid mode.
The consumption is quite low, at only 4.2 liters every 100 km. The model delivers a top speed of 185 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The new model from the Chinese manufacturer measures 4.780 m in length, 1.843 m in width, 1.469 m in height, and 2.790 m in wheelbase.

Chery also has the Fengyun A9 in China. The Fengyun A8 PHEV will be sold between 130,000 and 160,000 yuan, equivalent to US$ 17,700 and US$ 22,000. The powertrain of the new Chery Arrizo 8 plug-in consists of a 1.5 TGDI engine with 115 kW (156 horsepower) and 220 Nm.
The electric motor has 150 kW (204 horsepower) and 310 Nm. The electric range is 107 km. The interior of the Chery plug-in hybrid sedan is quite luxurious and features a 12.3” multimedia screen. Inside, the difference between the Chery Arrizo 8 and the Fengyun A9 is basically the finishing, which is much more luxurious in the new line of the Chinese automaker.
Will the New Plug-In Hybrid Sedan from Chery Arrive in Brazil?
For now, Caoa Chery has not expressed interest in importing the Chery Arrizo 8 PHEV to Brazil. However, as the hybrid and electric market in the country is growing, there is a possibility. It didn’t take long for the brand to formalize another line, which could become a brand in the future.
After separating, Omoda as an independent manufacturer and creating Jaecoo, Chery now has a line called Fengyun, comprising the unprecedented plug-in hybrid sedan Arrizo 8.
Like the Audi A8, from which it “stole” the name, the Chery Arrizo 8 is the most sophisticated and expensive model of the brand, as mentioned earlier. In comparison to the Arrizo 8, the Fengyun A8 only differs in the design of the front grille and the Chery logo with a white background. As mentioned earlier, what really changes in the model is what is underneath the hood.

For those looking for a model that combines technology and sustainability, Caoa Chery has brought the Arrizo 6 Pro Hybrid 2024, which enters the market at an interesting price of just R$ 139 thousand.
In the same price range, it is possible to find other models such as Onix, City, HB20, and others. The front design of the Arrizo 6 is a case apart.
The front grille has a 3D style that stands out, combining glossy black and chrome elements. The headlights are full LED and give the vehicle a special “wow” factor. Inside, comfort and sophistication dominate. The seats are extremely comfortable and the interior space is generous.
