The New Bridge Connecting Porto São José, in Northwestern Paraná, and Taquarussu (MS), is the Result of a Partnership Between the Government of Paraná and Itaipu Binacional.
The Technical, Economic and Environmental Feasibility Studies (EVTEA) for the construction of this bridge were prepared jointly by the two parties involved. This connection will be located at the Paraná River, allowing for connectivity between these two territories.
The Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR) announced on Monday (13) that the bidding for the preparation of the Technical, Economic and Environmental Feasibility Studies (EVTEA) to build a new bridge connecting the State of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul has been won.
The project will take place on the Paraná River, connecting the district of Porto São José, in São Pedro do Paraná, in the northwestern region of the state, with the municipality of Taquarussu in Mato Grosso do Sul. The bidding was carried out through the Electronic Auction modality, where participants compete by offering lower and lower bids through the bidding platform of Banco do Brasil.

The company Prosul – Projects, Supervision and Planning was declared the winner after the analysis of the judgment committee of DER/PR. It was the second classified in the electronic auction and was called to assume the role after the first bidder did not meet the technical qualification requirements. After the deadline for appealing the results expires, the next step is to homologate the results, followed by the signing of the contract.
The project for the construction of a bridge over the Paraná River, with a length of 2 kilometers, brings significant benefits to the South and Central-West regions of the country. In addition to creating a new logistics corridor between the two states, the project would also reduce travel time to the Port of Paranaguá, generating savings and greater agility in the flow of production.
To complete the structure, 19.8 km of highway PR-577 on the Paraná side will be restored, along with the construction of a bypass in Porto São José, 30 km of MS-473 on the Mato Grosso do Sul side, and an access viaduct in Taquarussu. This initiative will bring significant socio-economic and environmental benefits, which will be measured during the 18 months planned for the completion of the project.
The State Approved the Investment of R$ 36 Million in Road Conservation in the Northwest, Benefiting 168 Thousand Residents of 17 Municipalities. The Maintenance and Conservation Works Will Be Carried Out on 238 Kilometers of Roads, Offering Many Benefits to the Region.
DER/PR announced the approval of a bidding process for conservation works on 238.25 kilometers of state highways in the Northwestern region. An investment from the Government of Paraná in the amount of R$ 36,333,943.86 will bring direct benefits to over 168 thousand inhabitants of 17 municipalities.
The director-general of the agency, Alexandre Castro Fernandes, highlighted that the works include routine services, deep and superficial patches, reprofiling, pothole repairs, improvements to the drainage system, and restoration of horizontal signage. The work will begin as soon as the contract is signed and the service order is issued by DER/PR, ensuring a year of continuous maintenance for the highways in the northwestern region of the state.
Pro Conserva is an intermediate program aimed at ensuring the conservation and safety of state highways in the Northwestern state. Three lots were contracted, covering 899 kilometers of highways, with investments of R$ 89.4 million. The first lot was the only one, covering 307 kilometers between Tapira and Cianorte.
The other lots (A and B) offer 592 kilometers around Paranavaí. Additionally, projects are being developed to improve the modeling of contracts, bringing more effective and lasting performance indicators.
