Selection Is Intended for Young People Who Want to Pursue a Military Career as Army Officers, with Comprehensive Training and Benefits During the Course

The Brazilian Army announced the opening of registrations for the Public Admission Competition for the Army Preparatory School of Cadets (EsPCEx). The selection is aimed at young people of both sexes with a complete high school education. Those approved will begin military training in 2026.

Vacancies and Requirements

There are 400 vacancies for men and 40 for women. The opportunities are divided between open competition and quotas for black candidates.

To compete, candidates must be between 17 and 22 years old by December 31 of the year of enrollment. Registrations can be made until May 9 on the official EsPCEx website.

Steps of the Selection Process

The competition consists of several phases. The first is the Intellectual Exam, which covers subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Portuguese, and English, in addition to an essay.

Those approved proceed to other stages, such as Health Inspection, Physical Aptitude Exam, Psychological Evaluation, and document analysis.

Military Training in Campinas and Resende

Training at EsPCEx takes place in Campinas (SP) and lasts one year. During this period, candidates are referred to as students and live in a boarding school setting. At the end of this stage, those approved move on to the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (AMAN) in Resende (RJ), where they remain for another four years.

Military Career

After completing training at AMAN, students receive the title of second lieutenant. From then on, they pursue a career in the Army in different areas, according to the needs of the corps.
