Industrial Sector of Mato Grosso do Sul Is in Full Swing and the Areas of Pulp, Construction, Mining, and Ethanol Promise to Generate Thousands of New Jobs.
The industrial sector of Mato Grosso do Sul is estimated to generate 11,600 new jobs in the areas of Pulp, Construction, Mining, and Ethanol by the year 2028. The estimate was shared during a meeting with journalists at the Casa da Indústria in Campo Grande, by the Federation of Industries of the State (Fiems) this Tuesday (16).
Distribution of Jobs in the Industrial Sector in Mato Grosso do Sul
The estimate for new job vacancies in the pulp, construction, mining, and ethanol sectors is divided as follows: Ribas do Rio Pardo will see 3,000 jobs between 2023 and 2025, created by the new Suzano pulp factory.
Inocência forecasts 2,300 jobs in Mato Grosso do Sul, between 2025 and 2028, with the new Arauco pulp factory. Dourados will account for 2,000 opportunities also between this year and 2025 with the expansion of pig slaughter capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 animals per day – JBS Seara.

Finally, Maracaju will have 150 jobs between 2023 and 2024 with the construction of a corn ethanol plant by the Neomille group.
Mato Grosso do Sul Is Expected to Generate 150,000 Jobs by the End of the Year
In addition to this projection for 2028, the industrial sector of Mato Grosso do Sul estimates the hiring of 150,000 formal workers by the end of this year, a number that could be higher if there were no shortage of workforce placement in the job market.
According to the president of Fiems, Sergio Longen, the state is experiencing a labor shortage, a current difficulty in balancing the social benefits these people have been receiving with the willingness of people to qualify themselves.
MS has great opportunities, most of them free, offered by the S system, which is one of Fiems’ commitments. It is not difficult to find a business owner currently struggling with labor shortages in the pulp, construction, mining, and ethanol sectors. Thus, Longen emphasizes that he understands that social benefits should be reviewed.
Enterprises in Mato Grosso do Sul
One of the most anticipated enterprises in the state is that of Suzano Pulp and Paper, which now plans to invest R$ 22.2 billion in the construction of a new pulp factory, generating thousands of new jobs.
The new Suzano Pulp and Paper factory, to be installed in Ribas do Rio Pardo, aims to generate 13,000 opportunities. The factory would receive investments of R$ 19.3 billion, with an increase in projected expenditures for 2024.
